particular locomtive SP 255 (AC4400W), Drove it in Glennwood Yard to it's train
locomitve model; SD80MAC, by far has the most personality of any engine on NS/CSX

Second, farraris question;
the letter and numbers are given by the locomotive makers so that railraod companies can tell the apart. The letter stand for the type of engine and the numbers either for want production model (on GMs) or the the engine's horsepower (modern GEs).

I'M ESPECIALLY PARTIAL TO THE ALCO RS-1, BECAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF THE SEVERAL YEARS SPENT INVOLVED IN THE TIOGA TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM AT FLEMINGVILLE, NY, IN THE EARLY 1980'S. WHEN WE STARTED EXCURSIONS ON THE "MAINLINE" (THE FORMER LEHIGH VALLEY BETWEEN OWEGO AND NORTH HARFORD, NY), WE FIRST PICKED UP AN ALCO S-2 (THE FORMER BUFFALO CENTRAL #46---NOW TIOGA CENTRAL #14), AND THEN SOME RS-1'S FROM THE WASHINGTON TERMINAL RR. AND ONE FROM THE NYS&W. WTRR #61 CAME IN FADED BLUE, WTRR #59 IN BLUE ALSO---SHE'S RUSTING AWAY SOMEWHERE IN NEW JERSEY (I MISS HER, BUT NO ROOM IN THE OLD BACK YARD OR NEW APT.)---WTRR #47 CAME IN AMTRAK PLATINUM MIST AND RED-BLUE STRIPING. I HAVE TWO N-SCALE RS-1'S, ONE IN THE PLATNUM MIST AND ONE ROUGHLY SIMILAR TO THE TUSCAN RED AND GOLD THAT TCRR #61 WEARS NOW...PLUS SEVERAL OF MY FAVORITE ROADS HAVE/HAD RS-1'S, INCLUDING THE NEW HAVEN RR; THE LAVONIA, AVON AND LAKEVILLE (SPELLING.?), THE BAY COLONY RR., CENTRAL CALIFORNIA TRACTION, ETC.
