TEEN RAILFAN PLACE- LETS TALK TRAINS !

  • QUOTE: Originally posted by aschwarzmueller

Hello. I just joined this website today. My name is Alex. I'm from Wilson, New York, a rural town near Niagara Falls that has not seen a train since 1978. I am a graduate of RailCamp and a diehard railfan, but my family does not align with that, so I get out very seldomly, despite being 18.

    Welcome to the fourums![#welcome]

I have only been here for 4 months, too. This is a great place to chat with other railfans and modelers![:D]

Please stop witht the capital letters/words! I feel like I'm playing Counter-Strike: Source!

    Anyways...

I'm Nick from Pittsburgh, Pennsilvania. I obviously love trains, and I also build/collect model trains aside from my other hobbies. Favorite roads, well, I'll have to say Norfolk Southern and CSX, thats about all of roads we have in terms of the Class 1s here in Pittsburgh.
  • i have one it involes 2 gp15 2 flat cars and a caboose. the engineer gave me a tour of the train in a lumber spur.he told me the 2 gp15 were made in 1950 overhauld in 1980,and the neat thing i've got to blow the horn and sound like a k5a horn. boy it was fun and i was lock jawl and i have a picture of it and the color was gray all around.

HOW COME THEY DERATED THE AC6000CW?[B)]

Fuel milage is my guess. That is why a lot the 20 cylendar SD45s were detuned[B)]

I belive they did that in late 2003 also I don't know why

  • Hiya,
I'm Matthew, 15-going on 16, a big CP and CN fan, along with MRL (Who isn't) WC, and BCRail.
    Hi, everybody!
    Trainboy

Go here for my rail shots! http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?userid=9296

  • How's school going for you all. Mine's going fine, lots of work though!

    I would rather be railfanning

    [:D]
  • Fine for me, not to much homework yet!

  • You are so lucky ![banghead]

What grade are you in? I am in highschool
  • Homework isn't too bad for me yet, somewhere around a half hour a night, which I consider reasonable.

What really get's me is when I go outside for lunch and it's a perfect sunny day out. I get the blues because I start wishing I was railfanning.

    Noah
  • [#ditto] Yeah, ever day that is sunny i keep thinking- DARN! I could be railfanning. Oh, well, gotta do good in school otherwise no railfanning- dads orders!
  • I agree with Chris and Noah! I always wonder what power we have on the transfer. Im in 8th grade, last year of middle school.

  • I HW isn't bad either my longest was about an hour or so then for the last 2 weeks when I had to work on my 8th grade project I have not had HW [:D].

    kevin
  • I remember eigth grade, I was an eighth grader last year. I like High Scool a lot more. My math teacher does not give homework, which is great! I still miss doing the amount of railfanning that I did in the summer though[V]

The best and worst part is, that I can see trains going by from my History of World Civilizations class, and I can't help but thinking..

    WHY AREN"T I PHOTOGRAPHING THAT TRAIN![banghead]!!!!

Although, it is nice to see some trains. [^] CP Rail by the way- Ex-SOO LINE, so I do get to see some old Soo locos sometimes, which is great!

I don't know about you guys, Alec, Noah and Oskar, but my railfanning has slowed down ever since school began. I do as much railfanning and photography of trains on Saturdays as I can, but that's about it!

I took a trip to Wisconsin with my dad to railfan the CP Rail the weekend after the second wek of school, and man, I savoured every minute of it!
    [:D]

    So, how about you guys???[?]
