  • Thanks again again to everyone who contributed, and I have an idea I would like to put out to all who have contributed to this forum. So please, hear me out!

I was thinking that maybe this fourum could be a place where teens like us could just come and discuss trains and railfanning, and what's going on with railroads today.

    What do you all think???
Should this be a sort of teen railfan only place to just talk trains?

Or sould I shut up and keep my ideas to myself or what- please let me know.

We could start something that all railfans our age could use and enjoy, and we could keep it going for a long time

    So what do ya say??????????
  • No, we need the old timers for information.

  • Hi i am Colin, and i am 15, i enjoy walking along a shortline around Warminster PA, The railroad is the New Hope and Ivyland. I also model O Gauge, as well as HO, and G scales. Trains have been my interest for a while. I also enjoy sitting along a local CSX/NS mainline near my grandparents house. I also read a lot about railroads mainly the fallen eastern flags. I also enjoy reading about cars, and sometimes working on body work. I am also an avid X Games fan, and will be attending Camp Woodward in PA next summer, which is an extreme camp for BMX, inline skating, snow boarding, and skateboarding. I am going into high school this year.

  • Hi, I'm 14, and I'm a fan of the NS Railway. It is my dream to be an engineer for them. I don't get to see a train to often( don't live anywhere near the tracks [:(]). My town used to have its own railway but they abandoned it. However, my school is near the tracks and today I was in Environmental Science and I heard a train horn. I stopped what I was doing and just sat there and listened(we weren't really doing anything anyway)
  • i'm Max. i'm 17 and i've been a train fanatic ever since i first saw one pass through a crossing. i live in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. not a very active city in terms of railroad. thankfully, a small suberb, altoona, has a railroad yard nearby. i believe the town was named after Altoona, Pennsylvania. anyway, i bike there any chance i get to watch the traisn in the yard. whether it's a freight train passing through, or GP38s #367 and #2253 moving railcars around.

i'm an active member of my high school's model railroad club and i see myself being a train fanatic for the rest of my life.

though i wish i could tell the difference between an SD90 and a Dash 9.....

    Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.

  • Hey im chris. Im 17 and live in massachusetts. My favorite railroads are CSX, NS and Guilford and love just about all EMD locomotives expecially the GP60 and SD60I. I also started my own railroad Chelmsford Rail System (CRSX). ive been interested in trains all my life and probably always will. I had to take down my layout in 2002 because i ran out of money but i hope to create a massive one later in life.
  • Hey Lord Atmo,

  • WC is Wisconsin Central, right? well, i liked their locomotive colors. a lot nicer than the ugly Union Pacific yellow machines. ugh. let's face it, the UP is too yellow! i WI***he GP-38's at the yard i visit weren't UP. they used to be C&NW. but were later repainted after the merger. oh well. i miss C&NW. though i see a LOT of WC locomotives still. despite them being part of CN and all now

    Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.

  • Ya , BOO CN! So you say you want help identifiying loco's? If you need help we can comunicate with emails.
