That sounds pretty harsh! You guys are lucky!

An inciddent I had was once at Berea, I was watching an NS train from on the CSX tracks. The NS engineer motioned me back from the CSX tracks and within 2 seconds, having a high track speed at Berea, a CSX mail train blasted east at about 75 mph with a pair of AC4400CWs.

P.S.)- Don't get on CSX tracks too much anymore!

  • Another inciddent my mom had was at a rural rr xing, a very wooded one with crossbucks. My mom had the radio going, she knew this xing wasnt that active. She made it to thee xing and a big W&LE GP35 was almost across the road. Within a few feet of hitting her.

Also, we had to dial the number for the 'CSX Police' once as shown on the signs on the rr xing signals. The gates on a local Ravenna, Ohio road went up half way into the train and didn't go down again.

  • I'm not sure which AC6000CW you're referring to. Not being rude, but can you please be more specific in your posts?

  • Oh you mean in one of my inciddents? Those were AC4400CWs, not AC6000CWs. I don't know how it was breaking the gears, I didn't really pay attention I'll admit, but I believe one of the locos was CSX #5!! I've seen loco 5 more than once!

    Whoa, 666 replies! LOL

  • Thanks, got it from rrpicturearchives.net, as you can see, I was not the photogarpher--LOL! And as you probably know, these are the brand-new freshly painted GE ES44DCs (I have not seen yet) that CSX ordered. Some are even still running around in primer yet!!

  • i have seen one in that paint but not in that model.it was a dash 9.

  • If the number range was the 9000s it was a Dash 9, if it was the 7000s, it was a Dash 8, if it was upper 8000s, it was an SD40-2, well I'm assuming you can tell the geeps when you see them, or if it was 5-599, it was an AC4400CW, unless you already know all of this.
