Mike, I can't believe it but as I write this your photo is ahead! It is by far the better Photo by most any measure except rail fan detail. I expected to find Erics pix way ahead in THIS forum as it is technicallly perfect and DOES show many things that would excite a died in the wool rail fan.

This is the first time I was quite undecided before I voted... As a matter of fact, I even postponed my voting twice, until I was sure I had a preference...
My vote goes to Mike's picture. The deciding factor is hard to explain, but it's like while watching both pictures repeatedely, one of them brought back certain memories I'm very fond of, while the other one did not.
Congrats to both of you for two outstanding pictures!
And the fun goes on!....

I chose Eric because of the BNSF I work by the Richmond BNSF but get to see some foreign power once and a while. Thanks for the photos. Like to see the trains working!

Hello to everyone.
Both pictures are good, decision was easy. Mike's picture is far better not only because of the light, but also because you can see the horizon and the full lenght of the freight something that in Eric's shot is shavaged.

I liked Mikes the most, the composition, the relation to the surrounding scenery, just made it jump off the the sceen at me, Please, Please remember that spot, and do it again, in the Fall

BNSF in Arizona is very good. Come down to Southern AZ for some even better photos. Sunset Route plus border town action.

I liked mike's photo because of the way the train sort of disapears in the trees. I think it would be a fun scene to model.

Can you say horsepower? In Erik's shot I can almost hear the engines notching up. Ever notice that in mixed consists, the GEs always belch more smoke than the EMDs.
And I'm getting tired of leftover snow. Living a bit south of the Cheese Curtain I awoke to more of that frozen stuff this morning. Arizona dreaming.

Both great; tough decision. In the end I went with Mike because it shows the train in relation to its surroundings.

Non-railfans would consider Mike's suitable for framing. Erik's does appeal more to the railfan in me. BUT! I went with Mike's.

First thought was the power pic with the tank cars. A good, well framed, well exposed (considering apparent available light) photo. But, how many times have we seen this?
Looked at the Eric shot a second time - then third time, and realized that here is some subject matter that could be on the railroad calendar or a Christmas card. Same thing: well framed and well exposed, considering available light.
Both are good photos. It's a subjective decision: what do you want to see?

there is a problem, with voting on photo's, both have great photo's , with great back-ground items, but I think head on pictures are better, THANKS & HAPPY EASTER, "HUB"
