"N" gauge turnouts.

  • Can someone help, please. I am building an N gauge layout containing 19 turnouts. They are Atlas Code 80 item # 2700 and 2701. The motors operate but on a large number of the turnouts, the motors don't latch into the end position. If I manually latch them, they don't always switch over. The rails move, but don't lock in position. I have tried three different power supplies as well as DC vs AC. Does anyone have any suggestions, as to what to do, short of removing them and sending them back to Atlas? I have loosened the screws on them to allow them to self center, and this did make a difference on two of them, but not the others. Any advice will be welcomed and considered.

  • Yes, it is all new equipment..
  • I would talk to the dealer where you got them, they may have had a problem or the dealer may know what is causing it.
