BNSF NEW PAINT SCHEME

  • just a comment on the bnsf paint job I think it"s one of the best eye catching paint jobs around  i would like see more differant paint jobs  from other roads  I live in the east part of the country with the likes of csx and ns . ns has got the worst paint scheme around .
  • Nike and Sport Check will sue lol ... haha

10000 feet and no dynamics? Today is going to be a good day ...

  • I think its great.  I think what they are trying to do is establish one railroad and not two. The H2 looked a lot like the Santa Fe scheme, that they probably wanted to get away from that go with something different.
  • Why not try a new name like Chicago and Seattle (C&S) or Fort Worth and Los Angles (FWLA)?

A Better name Chicago, Denver & Los Angles (CDLS)?

That new name would bring the company into a new era of cooperation among employees.

  • The most recent scheme seems to be missing some element.

The Original Heritage scheme is still on many BNSF SD40-2 Units roaming the rails. Even some FURX units have the BNSF Original Heritage scheme.

BNSF Railway is actually Fort Worth's Biggest Railway, so they should just call themselves Fort Worth's Biggest Railway. It is a lot more meaningful name than just initials.

  • I love the new scheme. I have only seen one so far but it was great.

Their corperate headquarters are located in Ft Worth, but as far as physical plant, Union Pacific, has more yards, track, etc...in the Metroplex.

  • BNSF doesn't have a color scheme. I pass the Lindenwood Yard every day and see about every color scheme they've ever had, plus ATSF. I believe there's about 12, but they don't wash them so you can't tell. One even has the paint peeling so you can see part of the old Frisco scheme underneath.

Someone complained about NS. My feeling is that for a locomotive, you can't beat black with white letters and numbers and yellow hand rails.

  • I'm really new at this type of thing, but  my brother and I just returned from Erie Pa. and  we saw BNSF # 6045 & GE 6000 being tested. the BNSF unit had the new NIKE scheme and it looked really nice.It had silver trucks and a silver fuel tank ,which definately helps the appearance of any engine, to my way of thinking. The next day we traveled into Ohio, to Willard and in the yard, saw 2 more brand new BNSF's # 6031 & 6032. on the ready track. Thanks for listening to an old man "crow".  BIG LEW
  • The 2005 BNSF Scheme is slick, so there should be a music video made featuring the latest BNSF Locomotives. We just need to pick an appropriate song.

  • i think it looks pretty good after seeing pictures of the new paint scheme ,the same old paint scheme on a locomotive grows dull with time and so a change is good for arailroad especially since bnsf is my favorite class 1 railroad.
  • the orange really does work. i like the orange with black styling. i see homage to both RRs that merged to become BNSF when i see their locomotives in the new scheme. the black applied in the same spot as it was on BN locomotives and the orange representing a mixture of 2 colors from 2 different ATSF warbonnet schemes.

kinda wish i could see a BNSF ACE though. all i usually see in the mississippi river area are crash 9s on intermodals and patched ex BN units on manifests

i should also add that although the new scheme is awesome, the lowering of every unit's headlights is not. noselights in ex BN units? ICK!

  • The new BNSF SD70ACes are moving over the CN mainline in Michigan for delivery in Chicago. A BNSF SD70ACe was pulled at the end of a loco consist on the South Bend Subdivision after 8:00 P.M. on Sunday. A primer white SD70ACe was behind the BNSF SD70ACe.

Where do the new locomotives have to be to officially be placed in service on the BNSF?
