I seethe every time I see one of those one of those dirty white and soot black "contract mail carriers" on the NJ turnpike. Why are those trucks out there? They have more than once burned up entire trailers of mail alongside the road. As the lowest paying cargo they use the most marginal equipment. They are also fuel inefficient, dangerous to the public and dangerous the drivers who have to plow through blizzards and ice storms on bald tires no matter what. All the while, the Amtrak train is going there anyway. Why isn't there mail on board Amtrak trains. This country is so hypocritical about environmental issues.
