New HO Enthusiast wants to get old set up and running

Good evening, I just dug out a train set given to me as a kid back in 1975. Its an AHM HO set featuring a Santa Fe Diesel Locomotive. I have no tracks for the set and was wondering what you might recommend as well as power supply for it. I greatly appreciate you help!

I would suggest visiting a local hobby shop if one is available. You will definitely need code 100 track for that engine. That is the most common rail size. With one engine a simple power pack for HO should be adequate for now. Keep it simple for now. You will probably need to clean and lube the engine. Where do you live? Maybe one of us is close enough to help you get started. Really shouldn't take more then an hour or two to have you up and running.
