Favorite road names:
1. Cincinnati, New Orleans & Texas Pacific
2. Missouri & Illinois Bridge & Belt
All of the best names are often paper railroads that own the track which is leased to the operating railroad, which probably is majority owner of the underlying paper railroad.
The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

The companys that I like a lot are..
1. CSX, ( CSX stands for Chessie System, Seaboard System, and X stands for the other little companys they took over)
2. NYSW ( NYSW stands for New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway)

Im going to say the NYSW....the underdog in a world of class 1 railroads who has yet to be taken over and is getting a lot more freight business now.

Erie-Lackawanna. I spent a lot of time in my early teens watching (and waiting for) freights on the Boonton Line in North Jersey. I miss that railroad and the time I had to watch it.
