Still can't get used to the fact that the EJ&E is part of CN now... Seeing them at Homewood and especially on the CN mainline makes it sink in a bit more! Thanks for the photo trip; I really enjoyed it!
Went on a chase yesterday of a BNSF coal empty blasting past the house. Managed to catch him a few miles down the road, and set up for some video. Seeing the DPU on the back was BNSF SD70ACE 9200, pics were also taken.
First up, the wife took this one on the way
Not the greatest of shots, but we're still working out the technique of taking a nice, full loco photo when it's flying by at 50 MPH.
Up the road a few miles, we got the good shot.
A few hours later, I finally picked up an ACE leading a coal empty, with a MAC trailing, and another one DPUing. I still haven't seen a GEVO unit in quite some time, and I'm loving it!!
I hate CN, in all possible ways. Looks like the security crack down has finally made it's way over from Neenah and the Fox Valley to here. Stevens Point is going to get cracked down on security big time. If one of the two railroad cops tells me to leave public property, I won't leave. But I'll be positive that I am standing on public property. There goes my good angles around Point. I hope that this security crack down doesn't work it's way up to Wausau, then it's going to be extremely hard to rail fan around here. If they make it tighter here, it's just going to be another blow in my rail fanning career.

I went railfanning again! I went to Worcester to pick up my friend Alex from the train station, and filmed two CSX trains (a transfer job to the Providence & Worcester Railroad, and intermodel train SEWO) while waiting for the MBTA train... It was 30 minutes late... It was below freezing, but I managed to keep the video camera warm enough to record all but two clips (one was way zoomed in and not a great shot anyway, the other was of the MBTA train departing later at 4:30, and was completely backlit anyway) plus I took photos as well! With a little point-and-shoot since the Canon 30D is being repaired (shutter problem) but I got a couple okay photos.

Well my 20th Birthday was awsome yesterday! Went to Tennessee Yard caught a SD38 and Slug set they both still said Burlington Northern but they had a hand made BNSF patch were the logo should be! But here was the best part of the whole day the Trimmer Crew Let me get inside the cab of BN 6908!!! The only bad thing was they wouldnt let me take pictures! Ill try to get some pics up and i took some night time videos(not the best in the world) of a couple of trains one had a Farromax Gevo second out ill get those Youtube as soon as i can!

Well, CN has adapted a zero tolerance trespassing policy, but they like to use it as a excuse to make it "illegal" to take photos of trains, even from public property. I was just harassed by a CN employee while photographing EJ&E 673 at Homewood. He told me I was on CN property even though I was two feet off a public road, and it's obviously not CN property. I just told him ok and left because I'll be right back there again next time I go to Homewood, it's public property so they can't do anything anyway. I've went to that location thousands of times, and 99.5% of the time they don't care, it's just one or two people who like to use CN's policy as a excuse to harass photographers.

Haha Robby the DMIR guys just tell the CN guys to *oops, paint spill* off. Got some nice pictures of the DMIR #403 (last maroon 45T-2) leading a U-Tac out of Proctor. Engine was trying to kill itself, smokeing allover.

Here's a better trip report from Worcester:
On Thursday I went railfanning in Worcester, MA while picking up a friend from the MBTA train from Boston. MBTA P509 was 30 minutes late, so I had time to catch two CSX trains while I waited.
I took video and photos, although all of the photos were somewhat grainy (my SLR is being repaired, so I had to use a little point-and-shoot) so many got deleted, and most of the remaining ones are so-so. I've only posted the best as photos, the others are linked to them.
The first train had a pair of CSX AC6000CWs shoving a long cut of cars downgrade into the Providence & Worcester yard. Make sure to check out the video; photos can't do justice to the chugging sound of AC60s at low speed!

The next train was CSX SEWO (Selkirk, NY - Worcester, MA) which entered the intermodel terminal behind a ES44 and C40-8W.

Later that day, we went back. All the snow had melted, and the sun was at a great angle for shooting. I caught MBTA P517 (which then turned and went back to Boston as P516) entering Worcester at quite a clip.

On the way home we stopped by the crew change point in Barbers (part of Worcester) and caught another AC6000CW plus an ES44 idling under an impressive sky.

Alright, so I went to the Mad City train show today. It was great! Many good deals. I wound up getting 3 locomotives. An ATSF and BN SD45 slated to be patched for the WC, and a BN SD60M to match with my Oakway SD60 for coal service. After catching up with Noah, Brent and I headed to Portage.
First up was the Empire Builder.
Ok so before the Empire Builder we found that a freight was in Portage. So after they left, we headed down to find them. CP 9658 is making a drop for the yard in Portage.
Well, we head down the other end of the yard and find a GP40 Bandit, and SOO 4431, we knew ahead of time the Bandit was here. So we caught them switching in the yard. Nice to see the Class lights on the SOO GP38.
Alright now to the Bandit. They coupled to a string of cars, and shoved back. Did that GP40 and GP38 sound good reving up!
Everybody knows that Bandits are not the same on both sides, so we headed over to the opposite side of the tracks to get some shots there. This was after CP 9658 had left that made the drop in Portage.

Alight, so during all this time, CP 9777 had pulled in. There was another set of AC44s in the yard, and they had to pick them up. Here they are cutting off from their train.

During this time the Watertown local had come back. After seeing they where far down the tracks, we tried to get closer. But as we came back to the tracks it was too late, they started pulling out. So we went down a side street and got this grab shot of 4419 and Bandit 2066.
I suggested we go to the spot where we went to see the other set of Geeps work to see if we could make it in time for a better shot. Thankfully we made it in time.
I have some Stevens Point pics, and they turned out alright, but I'll post them later along with the videos.
