well i'm starting a project soon once i get paint and the appropriate decals.
i have 2 old bluebox shells of CNW crash 9s. and 1 chassis that the shells will share. i plan to patch them into UP 9750 and UP 9805 (numbers some of you should know the signifficance of). it SHOULD be simple enough, except for the number boards. but maybe i'll just leave those blank. i'll have pics soon enough

well after almost 2 months of missing the trai in NL i finnaly got it today. come to my suprise it was a GTW GP9. i havent seen a GTW GP9 since summer & first i ever seen a GTW on this line. had 6 cars for curwood, 3 empty log cars, & their were 2 boxcars on the running track but they were left sitting their so if their gonna sit their til tuesday if their loads or if their emptys get them later. also had some fun taking pics of the graffitti on the cars. i had my flash off & had the quality set at 4MN

Amtrak 161 hauls through the fog on New Year's Eve.
A Conrail painted C40-8W heads east through Lockport in the fog.
Amtrak P42 173 kicks up some snow on New Years Day at Brookfield.
IC&E and DM&E power sits in the engine terminal at Nahant Yard in Davenport, Iowa.
A pair of South Shore Line GP38-2s run down the middle of 11th Street in Michigan City, IN.
The light engine move heads away down the street running. Not too many places where you can see something like this anymore!
I still haven't gotten to posting the Galesburg shots and a couple more from New Year's Day but those are coming soon!
Ok, I've got just about everything else on.
BNSF 5181 kicks up some snow in Brookfield.
Metra MP36 403 flies through LaVergne station in Berwyn.
From the other side of the tracks at LaVergne, BNSF 7619 approaches Clyde Yard.
Amtrak 182 highballs through LaVergne with the eastbound Chief. More snow being kicked up here!
The same power that went through Brookfield on the Z train crosses over at LaVergne heading for the Cicero engine facility.
Now onto Galesburg!
Lots of nice power in the yard! CN/GTW SD40-3 5955 sits in the engine terminal.
Even nicer foreign power, IC 6203, sits in the yard. Not the place you'd expect to see IC, but I will take it!
Ferromex GEVO 4625 sits in the yard. Another neat sight!
BNSF 5264 is forced to a crawl through downtown Galesburg due to crossing work, coming off the Barstow Sub with a manifest.
Another manifest off the Barstow Sub with quite a few engines heads into town with BNSF 4852 leading.
Ifind it very amazing myself... to find a huge beast in the middle of the road were ussally only small 1 Ton beast are found.... lol i sound like Jeff Corwin...

I agree. Very nice pictures Robby. In my new layout I wanted to incorporate some street running. But there wasn't enough room. Here in Wausau we do have some what of some street running. You wouldn't believe where the former CNW trackage and the spur to Graphic packaging run through. Some people have little to no back yards! The spur to graphic packaging actually is jammed in between residential back yards and some factory behind that. Just before crossing Bridge Street, a street butts right up to the track. Another example would be the spur to 3M which cuts right through residential areas. Infact there is a spur that goes right into peoples back yards, it isn't used now, but at one time it was.

I don't beleive there's any street running in New England, but I could be wrong. The only instance I can think of is the Green Line light rail by the Resavuar (excuse my spelling, Firefox can't spellcheck) station.
I don't count light rail or trolleys as street running, just heavy rail or freight.
Normally the geeps do not run down the street running trackage in Michigan City, just the South Shore commuter trains. The company who owns the GP38-2s is a separate company from the South Shore commuter trains, which is owned by NICD (Northern Indiana Commuter District I think that means). I was there a few minutes not expecting to see much and then I noticed the GP38-2s coming down the street and they were moving at a pretty good speed through there! Thank you al for the kind words. However, that is still not all! Here are two more photos.
A nice clean OLS painted Conrail GP38-2 leads a local through Porter. If only that NS patch wasn't on it!

Traced NREX 9294, it came back to my yard so I biked down there again. Nobody was around...I went to town Found 3084 half a mile away, so all in all it was a good day.
I have a ton of pics to show once I get my films back...

Ya im still in the dark ages too, the camera i want to get in digital is over1,000 my EOS 35mm will do fine for now.
Well I went out night shooting again at Joliet, and personally I think the results came out great! Two Amtrak trains, including one of the older Dash 8s, made appearances.
The first Amtrak train stops at Joliet with a typical P42, #53, in the lead.
The second Amtrak train pulls in with P32 515 in the lead. Nice to see something other than a P32 for once!
