Favorite EMD Locomotive

I like the GP38-2, because i've rode in the cabs of them 4 times with the Wisconsin and southern, on three different locomotives.

I voted for the E9 because I'm a railfan. I think that particular beast looked great in practically any paint scheme. Yes, I realize from an engineer's perspective that the locomotive had lousy visibility and was probably underpowered. It still looked great... and sounded pretty neat, too.

SD40-2. Hands down, nothing ever built comes close. I base my vote on years of running everything from F7's up to the 40-2.

My favorite loco is the EMD SP FP7. I remember seeing these on several SP passenger trains, and rode behind them on fantrips,and regular SP trains.[:D]
I even had a cab ride on one once.[:)]

Gimme dah SD -40-2 or 3 I dont care lol!Anyhow ona more profesional note.If we had any GE's (which we dont) and it was a toss up of a brand new techni toaster GE or a run down 7 owners ago painted smoking sparking leaking GP-7,give me the GP!BTW what other Locomotive company(barring old Alcos of course) has some of its first generation power still on Class I and II lines?Stay safe all.

SD40-2 Hell Yeah! SD40-2s outnumber all others in my fleet of HO locomotives. Nothing like the sound of a turbocharged 16-645E3 in Run 8!
My MSTS fleet of SD40-2s is unbelievable! [:)]
