Coal Belt Country

A manifest freight east blasts out of Higgins Tunnel in to the dying mountain hamlet of Higgins Corner in the White Haven area of central Pennsylvania.  You know the little boy with his dog nearly took the front door of the house off its hinges getting out side to watch the passing of the train.  For the few familes still living there, that is probably about the only action during the day.  If it were not for the nearby local tavern and remaining mine there would be nothing left of the town.

The SD40-2's are painted in the CBL's familiar bright "yellow jacket" scheme. # # #
