Scale reduction
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 26, 2001 7:26 PM
I really like the layout shown in Model Railroad Planning 2001, pg. 76. but my room is 11x16. Can this layout be sucesfully reduced for this room in HO scale? Would the curve radius become too sharp? Thanks.........

In the discussion on page 75 they talk about minimum radius and the equivalent would be 20inches in HO. Although that part would work you can't scale down the aisles which are small at 2 feet. I suggest you draw out your room. Decide on a minimum radius and a minimum aisle width. Draw it up and see what you get. You can always use the features you most like and cut some others.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll take your advice and give it a shot.
