Sorry about the redundancy, but I was totally dissatisfied with how last night's indoor photos turned out (the shells "faded" paint didn't show) - so I decided to re-shoot them in direct sunlight. So, the links are the same, but the 5 loco model photos are different.

I did some actual modeling this weekend, but I didn't have time to snap pictures of my work in time for the weekend photo thread. I'm going to take these models to the 2005 Steel Mill Modelers' Meet next weekend in Medina, Ohio.

The first 5 model shots are of some Kato SD38-2 units painted for my fictional short line, the Iron Belt. I weathered them, but because of the crappy indoor lighting the weathering doesn't even show[banghead]. (I also included some shots of EJE prototypes used as weathering references.)

The next two shots are of a Kibri front-end loader adapted for handling red-hot slag in steel mills - I added protective chain-me***o the tires using a material called "tulle" from my 9yr-old daughters' discarded ballet tutu.

The final two shots are of a Kibri model of a Terex "off-road" [read: oversized] dump truck.

Anyway here they are - I put them in as links so the guys with slower connection speeds wouldn't get annoyed.

3 Iron Belt SD38-2s
Iron Belt #236 head-on view
Iron Belt #236 left front view
Iron Belt #224 right rear view
Iron Belt #227 tail view
Prototype - weathered J unit #665 used as a reference for undercarriage weathering
Prototype J unit #669

Front-end Loader with chain mesh for slag service
Slag Loader rear view
Prototype Loader Action Photo

Terex Off-Road Dump Truck
Terex Off-Road Dump Truck – head-on view
