Hey folks...long time lurker, first time poster. I just thought I'd drop a quick note to say "hi" to you guys. I've been interested in the hobby since I can remember. Both of my grandparents have/had model railroads that amazed me when I was a little boy. My grampa on my mom's side has just picked up a DCC and sound equipped loco. That sealed the deal...I decided I gotta get back into this stuff. No more than a week or two after playing around with his set up I subscribed to MR (after several years without it) and bought more HO related books than I care to mention [:p] I'm recently engaged and will very soon be the proud owner of a house with nice dry basement just begging for a empire of my very own. I'm going to start off with the Turtle Creek Central 4x8 plan that MR did awhile back. I like the idea of a small shortline...exactly what I want to do. The double deck track plan in the March '05 MR looks really good too. But I believe helixes and such is a wee bit out of my scope. Perhaps that'll be my second layout. Call me crazy...but I really want one of those Overland BQ23-7s for my shortline. They are ugly as sin...but go***hey sure are interesting! Well...I'm sure I've changed the subject enough on you guys, so now that your sufficiently confused I'll letcha go hehe. Take care, Ryan
