Has any one devised a plug in (male female) type connector that can be used between a loco. and tender to carry DCC wires?

I saw it done in a 1997 issue of MR. (Don't ask to find it). I'd recommend checking some DCC sites. If not, check out some electronic stores. If they don't have one find some old, portable stereos or computers - I've pulled many miniature plugs out of them.

I've used the Miniatronics 4 pin micro mini connectors (50-004) and the 2 pin micro mini connectors (50-001) with excellent results. I cut the wires as short as possible, leaving just enough to solder the decoder wires to the connectors, because the decoder wire is both thinner and more flexible than the Miniatronics wire. Any model train hobby shop will probably have the connectors in stock. Very fine guage, very flexible decoder wire is available from Loys Toys in Arkansas. I've found that keeping some of this on hand is worth doing.

Hope this helps.
