Dave, Thanks for the reply. It looks like you have some good things going on. Here is a link to Melvin Perry's blog on how he customized and motorized his rotary snowplow. I'm working on doing the same. This might be helpful to you.

And your side rotary is great and has some very nice interior details. The 3-in-1 kit had me confused when I bought it off of eBay. I thought it was missing all the parts. I didn't know I'd have to scratch build half of it. It was a challenge but in the end I enjoyed it.

There was a recent thread on the same topic but it didn't garner very many responses. Hopefully yours will do better. After all, you can never have too many snow plows!!
Here is my collection. Some are not finished. Many of my plows were built from the Roundhouse 3 in 1 kits that you mentioned.

This is s shortened Walthers Russell plow kit:
This is an attempt at building a double track plow. The body is from a Walthers kit and the blade is scratchbuilt out of brass. I haven't done much with it because I'm not happy with the proportions of the blade:

This is my latest project which I'm sure most of you have already seen. Except for the brass castings, the trucks, gears and the motor, it is all scratchbuilt including the gearbox. I have been working on it for over a year and I'm still not done.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
To keep things interesting I try to incorperate real world events into my operations. Today was a crazy snowstorm. It actually was so bad that it snowed in places in southern California which rarely see snow. So in honor of this event I brought out all of my snow fighting equipment. I run a flanger between every train or two going over the mountain pass. I follow it up by running a Jordan Spreader every few trains. And then I run the rotary plows once in each direction. While they might not be the best models ever built they are what I made and they are fun to run. I am still planning on installing ice breakers on top of a couple of locomotives and installing the round marine style snow wipers on the windows. Please post some pictures of your snow fighting equipment. Thanks.
