I saw something on the net that said they had closed their doors and that their remaining stock and kits wuld be marketed by Bethlehem Car Works. Bethlehem Car Works is showing a NYC baggage car, http://bethlehemcarworks.com/ho-scale-craftsman-kits/. If this is the same, you can try contacting them and see if they have a set of instructions.

Yes, you can use Apple Barrel paints in an airbrush.
You can thin the paint with Windex.
Or, you can thin with the Gemini brand "Masterpiece" brush cleaner and conditioner for acrylic paints.
I bought the quart size bottle at Hobby Lobby .... should last me for a few years ....

I've seen mention of 1 part distilled water 2 parts paint. However there is a reason this paint is much less expensive than model acrylic paint. Definitely you should test it on something of no value.

If this is to be fine work, don't use the apple barrel, the pigments are not ground fine enough for a really good surface.
Both cars are similar but BCW has brass sides the one I have is all resin.

Here's a NEW YORK CENTRAL baggage car...
...which I built by removing the sides from an Athearn "steel" coach, replacing them with wooden (styrene) sides. I also added a few extra details to the underbody.
