Does anyone have anything to report about new products or other goings on at

Mark,
Incredibly busy and crowded this morning. Turnout was incredible. There were backups all the way up the exit to the interstate when I got there at 10am this morning. Some people waited 40 minutes to get in. Luckily I knew the short cut to less used entrances and got right in.
All of the major manufacturers were there with lots of good stuff. One thing I noted was that Bachmann did not have an HO 2-8-0 on display. All the major locomotive and car manufactuerers were there with new stuff. Nothing really stood out. Many of the usual local vendors but also quite a few new ones. Only this that bothered me were window and gutter guard vendors mixed in.
Operating layouts were abundant with something for everyone. Found alot of old friends and found that my old RR club is back and functioning. I also found out that an old friend from the National Railroad Museum is now an Associate Editor with Trains magazine.
It was great to be at a big show again.

A new firm -- new to me at least -- is Class One Model Works, of Kansas City. They were showing, among other new and expected models, a GSC depressed center heavy duty flatcar in HO that looks very intriguing and likely to be useful on my layout. They had sample models on display and a video screen showing 3D views of all the separate parts. The guy from Class One telling me about the model was the very well known modeler, model designer, and author Stephen Priest, who is past editor of the NMRA magazine and RMC.
There were plenty of other new products being displayed or promoted but that is the one that most interested me.
I was sorry that Tichy was not there this year. There was not really a tool outlet per se -- we still miss Billy Carr!--- although various vendors were selling tools, including MicroMark with a very limited selection of their offerings. ZAP was there selling adhesives. There was a BIT more "used/swap meet" stuff there than there has been at prior Trainfests. The floor plan was good and the vendor section (as opposed to the operating layout section -- very much separated from each other in this year's floor plan) was very professional looking. This isn't Trainfest's doing but the host venue: both parking and food were credit card only this year. One would think that would really speed things up. One would be mistaken.

To the world you are someone. To someone you are the world
I cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought
Nice synopsis of the show. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for posting that David.
We (wife and I) didn't make it this year, we were still at our cabin in the north woods.
Great to see it was a busy place, as it always used to be befroe the covid stuff.
