Smoke oil for BLI Steamer
Posted by mdmack75 on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 4:58 PM

I just bought a BLI DCC steamer, which has smoke capability, and am looking for recommendations for smoke oil. There is a lot out there, but I don't know if I am able to use something other than their Broadway Limited oil.

Thanks in advance

I have used other brands (since Oct.17,2013 MTH-coal and since April 25,2014 J.T.'s Maga Steam-coal fired steamer) Smoke Oil in my BLI steamers (Mountains, Decapods and H10s) and have had nothing bad happen. Except just to stink up the room and have the wife hollar down ''Are you burning somthing?'' Just be careful, DO NOT USE ALOT OR TO MUCH OR JUST ONE DROP MORE.

And I guess you know (by the BLI instructions) to turn off the smoke unit when not using it.

I do not recall if the BLI warrenty mentions any use of other brands of oils voiding the warrenty.

I know the oil's smoke makes my head/nose stuffy.
