Removed all but a few project rc planes from the model train room to make working space. Will set up a table elswhere for thos planes and finish clearing space for the additional table construction. Making good progress.

Ken, sorry I missed your birthday a few days ago but please accept my belated congratulations. As a Clive Cussler reader I imagine you saw that he passed away at the age of 88. I've read a few of his books but nothing like the number you have. Robbie sends Dirk a piece of pizza. Robbie says it is the 'best food on the planet'. He just gets a small piece of crust but now we can't say the word or spell it. We just call it the round thing with cheese otherwise he thinks we are having one.
Tonight I pick up my K5a. Looking forward to seeing how it runs. I really am wondering if it will go around a 22" radius. I have been looking at the layout to see if I can get it up to 24". I would have to add a 6" extension to the back and add a couple of turnouts but should be doable.
Have to head out shortly to get a haircut and then off to the gym for a few laps.

How the CENTRAL OF GEORGIA RAILROAD gave my alter-ego his name:
When I was painting my first wargaming army over 25 years ago, I needed a name for my general. I saw pictures of lords on horseback with their names, title, and realm repeated on their barding, shield, and pennants. I decided to do the same.
I went to the hobby shop, and dug through decals and found a set for the CENTRAL OF GEORGIA. I took them home, and started playing with the lettering. I came up with the name Duke Georgal Of Entralgia. It sounded good enough for me.
I made this heraldry:
My first model of Duke Georgal was shipped to Sweden to lead a company in my friend Mattias' army in the European Grand Tournament about 20 years ago. He did not really have a noble enough look to lead my army. I used a standard knight model for version one.
This is the second model of my character. He has been retired from game play.
This is the current unfinished state of the newest third model of Duke Georgal. I did away with the orange striping from the original CofG decals and went with yellow which is more appropriate for heraldry. I also did away with the boxcar red and went with a pure red color. The bear crest and helm were made using an N scale pack of animals by Preiser.
I found the third version model as I was cleaning out the workshop. I need to remove the head from the rider and remount it onto the model. It looks like he has no neck the way it is. I think this is what stopped the project.
So, if it were not for the CENTRAL OF GEORGIA, there would not be a Duke Georgal.

Well, it happened--I tipped over the Harley. I didn't wreck. I was backing up the bike, lost focus, lost my balance and thud, over it went. Thank goodness for engine guards. I had watched a couple of YouTube videos about how to upright a tipped bike, but I couldn't quite remember the technic in the heat of the moment. Luckily a couple of young men in white shirts and ties were walking past and I enlisted their aid. I am going get a piece of carpet to protect the bike and practice tipping it and standing it up on my own.

I never dropped one of my Harleys, but I did lay over the Honda CB-900 one day, with my eight-month-pregnant wife in the rear seat.
I was pinned under the bike, and she had to lift it off of me.
That has been 32 years ago, and I still have not heard the end of it.

Charlie I had no idea that he passed! I have read ever book that he wrote that was published, even the kids book's. I mentioned before I named Dirk Pip after Clive Clussers action hero Dirk Pitt. I hope his son keeps his story line going.
Been on of those day's that nothing went right! I won't bore you folks with all the details but one of the highlights happened while I was helping a customer with a credit applaction. A crazy lady came in and stood next to the customer I was helping and stared at me. Told her I be with her in a minute when I was done. Did ask her what are you looking for?
She said "I need a blanket".
I said "we have blankets, but they are around $120.00".
She said "I have no money"!
I said "Then I have no blankets for you'.
Far as dropping bikes? Been there and done that.

The FedEx label to return a bunch of items to Tesla containing several important pieces of paperwork about the trade in couldn't be read at the place here that works with FedEx. I will drive to Canandaigua this afternoon and see if they can help me. If not? Oh, well, I guess I shell out to get the package sent to them.

Picked up my Hudson last night from the brass expert here. Wow, does it ever run nice! He said that he has worked on quite a few of those locos over the years and so knows what problems they have and how to fix them. With a decoder installed, the bill was $110 which I think was a bargain. I started thinking of perhaps getting another brass engine but then I saw what the markets were doing this morning and think I'll wait on that for a bit. Sure glad we don't have any major expenditures planned for this year.
Not much on the agenda today other than my wife's weekly appointment. It only takes an hour so I have lunch or just a coffee at a little shop across the street.
Time to get moving,
This past week I was in the Salt Lake City area and ventured down to visit the Harley-Davidson dealer in Lindon (north of Provo). I had read that they used a fair amount of reclaimed metal to build the store. (They refer to it as a resort.) As it turns out, 70% of the building is built of recalimed materials. From their flier about the location:
All of the trusses in the Parts, Showroom and Lobby are from the same era building. These trusses are from one of the original railroad buildings in Ogden. The trusses were built in the late 1870's and were demolished in 1964. They were found in the bushes at the back of an old salvage yard where they had rested for over 40 years before being reclaimed for use in this building.
It is a pretty amazing building if you are ever in the area.

I have about two-dozen bluebirds at the feeder! I've never seen that many in one place before. Lots of purple finches, Cardinals and Tufted titmouse, too!

Sorry, no food for me. The thought of food is still repulsive. I have lost 20lbs in the past 6 days! Petra feeds beef broth and chicken broth to me in baby portions and with a little luck, they stay inside long enough.

Not quite yet but coming, I hope. Although a lovely lady I like and I haven't yet had that sleigh ride we have wanted since last December. Blasted snow arrives one day to the tune of a foot or so and melts within a couple days.....
Finally have all the items done (I sure hope) for the Tesla purchase! Now I wait until they set the date to pick it up.
My sister should be coming home from the HorsePiddle today. I will go up and stay at her house on Saturday night. She has a couple other people lined up for tonight and Sunday night. She is doing quite well, I guess, considering how bad the injury was.
Today I ran 30 laps over at the Fieldhouse doing 15 then a short rest and another 15. 16.2 laps is a full 5k. I ran 17 laps without stopping last Monday totaling 27 laps of running. Would have done all 30 but was short on time. Had too much stuff to do with the car purchase on Wednesday so I didn't make it over at all. Had an appointment for the Volt to get a computer problem fixed. Had a "loaner" overnight. We had another couple inches Wednesday night with a lot of ice underneath. Yucky weather! Would rather have all sn*w...
Great to hear your sisters doing better and being released Ray. That nasty fall down the stairs and the bone poking through the skin you described awhile back really made me cringe.
I'm sure she still has a long road to recovery but it's so nice to hear she has a great family and friends to help

Ray, gettin a Tesla, they are everywhere here and people love them, I would not be surprised if we end up with one. Glad to hear your sister is making progress. I have a question for you since you had your fitness transformation do you still need your C-Pap? I know two people that no longer have sleep apnea since they lost weight and got back into shape. They no longer need their C-Paps or those little blue pills.
Went to Costco to stock up. The wife had gone through most of the cold and flu remedies so bought a variety of stuff for next time. I hate having to go out when I am sick to get meds so we always have it on hand. The cold and flu shelves were all but empty with empty boxes piled all over the floor, but we are now good.
While I was there I got a box of apples, avocados, oranges, tomatoes and veggies and kleenex and toilet paper, all the essentials. The place was packed and the stock was disappearing. We could easily go a couple of months with what we have on hand.
The old stock portfolio sure took a hit this week, oh well you don't really lose til you sell so I'll just wait it out. The economic hit the world takes is massive when something like this happens. Lives lost or not saved just from the economic standpoint will be huge. It takes money to help people.
We represent four elderly people and the wife got calls from the senior's homes they are in while I was at Costco. They said one will not survive the corona, another is unlikely to and the other two may or may not. We have made arrangements with the funeral homes for when the time comes just in case we are away when they pass.
The wife is showing some signs of improvement, I bought her some pork ribs for dinner, that'll help cheer her up a bit.
I need to get to the booze store and get some bottles of wine and rum before those shelves go empty, I should have gone there first, what was I thinking.
The only time I fell over on my bike was when I rolled up to a red light and my winter riding pants got snagged on the choke lever and I could not put my leg out. Over I went, fortunately, the crash bars saved my leg.
Just talking to the kids and they both stocked up on cold and flu meds as they have important stuff going on at University and will need to keep going. My son tends to be the Mom when his housemates get sick, he ends up dispensing his stash to them.
I remember driving my wife to Vancouver once when she had to do a very specialized emergency surgery on a police dog that got badly injured at three in the morning. The wife was really sick and I did not want her driving all that way in her condition. I sure had to help that night. The dog made a full recovery and went on to chomp more scumbags.
Spent about six hours in the train room yesterday partly working on the water tower. I have a part and I don't know where it goes. I think it has to do with the water level ball that goes on the top but I am not sure. I will take a pic and post it here and on FB CMR page as it is a Kanamodels kit and they are more common on that site. I didn't like the paint colour I bought for it and ended up using Krylon ruddy brown which seems perfect.
Well, best get on with doin something, still not feelin 100% but close. I will have to cut the lawn next week for sure so maybe I'll put the new blades on the Deere.
The news just said that Vancouver had three murders in January 2020 while in all of 2018 there were 13. Time to move.

Fitness and medical stuff - C-pap? Well I use it a whole lot less. The Doc still says I am having about one "event" an hour. Another medical person said, "what, that's nothing basically everyone has that rate". I follow doctor's orders and wear it part of the night. Little blue pills.... Yep I have those to. Found that not taking the antihistamine I have taken for about 20 years helped, ah, that condition. I was told by my pharmasist that one of the blood pressure meds is also a negative factor in the condition. I will say that things have , ah.... perked up a bit but I still like a particular side effect the pill has... LOL (Told that one to the nurse who checked me in and did the meds history at my last Doctor's appointment. Thought she was never going to catch her breath.) Oh well, I am 73 and diabetic.
Last night before bed I took my Blood Pressure after sitting here at the computer for a couple hours. It was 104/65 with Heart Rate at 55. My average for the last couple months (taking it a few times each day) is now 127/69 with HR @ 61. Doc cut one of the Diabettes meds in half last time I saw him. Still, on the new dose, blood suger is staying about 95 to 110 everytime I check it. Right where I want it! Not bad for an old guy. I did as well in 2008.
The kid applied for interest-free government loans for University even though he did not need the money. He wasn't going to apply for the loans until I told him it was free money to use for investing.
He does not have to pay it back until a year after he graduates. He has about $30,000.00 ready to go and is watching the markets closely. He has had a stock portfolio since he was fourteen, the account was in my name until he turned eighteen.
He is hoping the Government will forgive the loans before they come due.

Went out to eat tonight at a new neighborhood restaurant. It used to be a seafood store. The put in a dozen TV's that play sports and turned one wall into garage doors, which I suppose they will open in nice weather.
My wife said they were playing music, Fleetwood Mac, but it was so loud in there i could only hear a rumble. Food was just OK.
Got home and emptied the piggy bank, which was full. Put all the coins in paper wrappers $44 and did my wife's coin jars. Total $151 of spare change just sitting in jars.
Ray, that is great news on the health front, will you ever totally get off the BP meds? My BP is within 5pts of 110/70 HR50 almost always. Getting in shape is hard work but once you are there it is easy to stay in shape.
John, I had a lot of time to read at work as I would often be waiting for a late one of these freighters that would need my attention.
I would park airside near the end of the runway often through the night and read books on the world of finance. This one book, in particular, is my bible, It was $68.00 in around 1980, it is quite thick and my eyes closed often while I read it many times over while sitting in my truck.
Tim Horton's coffee helped. When the plane flew low over where I was parked I put the book down and got to work.
I had to add to my high school education if I wanted a higher standard of living and went and got the book list from the University Of British Columbia on the various subjects of what it took to be a stock trader. Investing good money in those books made my friends jaws drop as they often came to the UBC bookstore with me so they could look at the girls. Books were the best investment I made.
My son is following in my footsteps and doing quite well. (until this week)

Henry, they don't have corona....yet. The staff are just planning ahead I guess. When past outbreaks have hit these senior's homes they have done a lot of damage.
I have a number of large tins that had good quality booze come in them and I put my change in them. I just weighed the quarter ti and there is about $873.00 in it. When it hits a $1000.00 I am going to buy a Rapido ABA FP7 set. My wife rolls her eyes at me because we have $1.00 and $2.00 coins that get tinned as well, those add up fast.
