Show me something else that isn't yours any longer.

Wow!  There's so much from which to choose....how about a few locomotives...

four of these...

...this one...

...two A-units and 2 B-units of these...

...three of these...

...these three...

...and this one...

...four of these, although I got one back...

...this one...

These two...

...and these two...

I could do freight and passenger cars, too, but there's a couple hundred of them.

I sent this PRR I1sa (the one with the red Keystone) to one of our forum friends as a reward for giving up cigarettes:

Unfortunately, he has had a run of bad luck with it.

Please show another model you cherish but no longer have.

Here is a Bowser PRR T-1 I no longer own. When I acquired it, it was a basket case. I purchased replacement parts and detail parts from Bowser. It was a very heavy locomotive, and with two motors, it could pull very long trains.

Please show a former basket case locomotive that has been restored.

Please show a former basket case locomotive that has been restored.

Not quite "basket-case" but a 1962-era LMB model with appliances that, by today's standards, are a bit crude. Take a look at the headlight bulb, for instance.

I replaced the motor and many of the soldered-on details. Happy with the results Yes

Here's a "before" view...

...and the "after" view...

...and a view of the prototype, from a scan of a page in Mainline Modeler, with photo credit included...

Here's another "before"...

...and its "after" counterpart...

Please show us some more restored or before/after photos of locos and rolling stock.

Thanks, Peter.  The friend for whom I built it seems pretty happy with it, too.

You forgot to ask for something to be shown, so I'll simply carry on with the railroad-related signs.
Here are a few, including this "Resume Speed" sign with limits for passenger and freight trains...

...a warning sign for plows and flangers to lift the flanger plow and retract wing plow blades.  It also applies to spreaders and weed sprayer cars...

This one signals that the restrictions noted on previous signs have been "Cleared", with no more until another warning sign is seen...

...and this one just lets you know owns the area...

More open top loads please.  Lovin' that boiler Ed, takes me back to my boilermaker helper days and 'rolling the tubes', took a bad 'greenhorn' spin on the big air motor one night when the roller stuck, hah! Regards, Peter

That must have been a fun ride, Peter! I've done (helper) a little tube expanding myself. Real bullwork.

Here's a neat look at what makes a locomotive boiler tick:

Here's some pipe on a Tichy flatcar...

...and in a Tyco gondola...

...but I still need to add some wedges to the blocking for all of these cars.  There are three such flatcars and two gondolas - all loads are removeable.

How about an auto carrier, please.

This modified Athearn Blue Box car probably isn't what you had in mind, but in the late '30s, it would have been the most common way to transport automobiles....

This CB&Q flatcar was designed to haul things, in this case, logs.

The flatcar and logs are made by Model Power, being pulled by a Athearn Hustler on my 4 by 8 layout.

Show me a flatcar, please.

Show me another flatcar.

Here's a flatcar carrying a load of steel plate...

As on the real cars, threaded rod is welded to a steel plate somewhat larger than the opening in the stakepockets, then the assembly is inserted into the bottom of the stake pocket, with the threaded rod protruding upwards.  With the short plates on the bottom of the piles, the longer sheets are added, then 4"x4" hardwood "hearts", pre-drilled to accept the rods, are layed across the top sheets of plate. Washers and nuts are added to the rods and tightened down, bending the longer plates down over the shorter ones, making the entire load secure.
Copied from a real loaded flatcar at the steel plant where I worked.
