I like the way that MR has progressed since Hal became Editor.  It is a much more enjoyable read than it was just a few years ago.

MR will keep chugging along in fine shape with Carl.  I really enjoy his work at CTT.

Good luck to both of you!

Just a suggestion, but you might want to make Carl's post a sticky for a few days so everyone gets to see it. It is locked so it will drift down the page otherwise.

And congratulations, Carl.

Hi Folks:

No, it's not a misprint. We have all kinds of new things going on here at Kalmbach Media, much of which I can't tell you about now, but we think you'll enjoy. You'll hear more about all of it in the coming months.

What I can tell you is I'm the new editor of Classic Toy Trains and Garden Railways, and Carl Swanson is MR's very capable and creative new editor.

Each of us should be in appropriately branded shirts at Trainfest, so you shouldn't be confused! Come by and see us at the Kalmbach booth!

I though exactly the same thing as the OP, was very confusing.

I hope this doesn’t confuse the trainfest attendees, imagine going specifically to see the editor of one magazine and finding the editor of the other!

Regards, Isaac

Glad that the editor position is not out-sourced!

At a recent conference where I was speaking, in the program they put a "PhD"

May not have been a mistake.  Doesn't PHD mean "piled higher and deeper"?

Harrison
I was wondering that myself, when I saw the Trainfest article.

.

I think this is just a simple mistake.

.

At a recent conference where I was speaking, in the program they put a "PhD" after my name and added "Director Of" to my job title. I took it to my boss and asked for a raise!

I would say so. Their website shows Carl Swanson for CTT and Hal Miller shows up in the Nov issue of MR.

So, I was looking at the Kalmbach Train Fest staff lists, and I see Carl Swanson is listed as Editor of Model Railroader.  Hal Miller is listed as Editor of Classic Toy Trains.  Is this a misprint?
