SeeYou190
Brent started Filosophy Friday on a Thursday, maybe I should have started Weekend Photo Fun! .

Go for it THE END IS NIGH!Laugh

Actually, the kid had surgery on Tuesday and is having a rough go of it. Feeding tube through his nose, three IVs, Oxygen in the "other" nose. His tongue is so swollen he can't swallow and has a suction tube in his mouth.

The care he is getting could not be better.

The helipad is right outside his window and I see the choppers coming in often and see the care people get with large teams out there waiting for them. Unlikely to cost them a dime for the care they get, I have to admit it brought a tear to my eye thinking we are doing something right as a society helping those who need it.

I just came home to look after things and will be going back with fresh clothes for the wife. There is a shower right there so she can freshen up.

The kids surgeon came in wearing a Deadpool 2 T-shirt and said he remembered seeing him in the movie. The kid gave him a thumbs up and it gave him a boost in his day.

A few more chores and then back to the hospital in Vancouver. Thank goodness for gas warning lights in cars, we are so tired I would have run out if not for the light.

All the best to all.

EDIT; I see I got tops! Free hospital food for all!Laugh

Good afternoon.

That was a good one Ed.  Pina coladas tapping a coconut tree.  Actually I don't think you're very far off.  I do believe rum is made out of coconut milk.  Maybe that's why the Pirates always drank itPirate

I don't think anyone would object if you started Weekend Photo Fun early Kevin.  Just more fun longer, that's all.  I always enjoy WPFYes

I hope your kid feels better Brent.  I don't ever remember any surgery recovery being smooth in the beginning.  I'm hopefull he improves and starts feeling better very soon.

TF

PS.  Roger that Ed.  I didn't notice I said syrup instead of sap.  One needs the sap to make the syrup.  I will correct thatLaugh

Regardless of the time of year, dress for full winter on that cog railway.  Shorts and a t-shirt are fine at the base, but you will want a warm ski jacket at the top.

Good evening .....

Brent ..... I'm sorry to hear about "the Kid" . Prayers he feels better soon.

Ken ... Cheers to you.

Mr. B .... Thanks for the advice. We are thinking of wearing layers of clothes for the Cog Railway. ..... Another concern is driving time. Looks like narrow, hilly roads with slow speeds getting to Bretton Woods.

Everybody , .... Have a nice night.

Good Morning!

Flo, I need coffee in an IV bag, please! It was too hot to sleep last night. Yesterday was the hottest day ever since they started recording it! A town just a little south of us hit 110F! With private homes being not equipped with A/C, this temperature is murderous!

Today, Petra and I celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Well, we won´t be celebrating it, as it is too hot. We will go out for dinner once it has cooled down some.

Going back into the fridge now, hoping to get some sleep!

Happy times!

Good Morning All,

Ulrich - Happy Anniversary to you and Petra. Hope the heat breaks for you soon. We had that in Wisconsin last weekend though it only hit 96F but really humid with the occasional windstorm/thunder and lightning. Here at home the hear index hit 137F Saturday and 131F Sunday. 70's and 80's now so pretty pleasent for summer.

Picking away at the back of the layout these last few days. I have elevated track on the perimeter ala the New Haven main line and carried it on to the back wall but without the stonework. I am now figuring out what I can do there and will likely incorporate rock formations between the levels. Pics if I remember to bring home the camera. Pics on line are easier now that we pulled all the ersatz programs off the desktop here at the shop. One decided I shouldn't download my own photos onto my own computer without setting up a pay account. The noive!

Well back to the shop and more fun and games. We're also doing a new roof and some improvments along with a large solar array so we'll have some benefit soon I hope.     Ciao, J.R.

Good morning.  Our brief pleasant weather spell has ended.  Even though it is 68° right now, we will be back into the more normal 90s with high humidity today.

I'll try to cut the grass again before it gets too hot.

Finally feeling a little better.  I may even feel good enough to get out of the Lazyboy and work on the layout a little.

Little Melancholy Tonight. Just a lot of unpleasnt things on my mind.

Whatever is bothering you, I hope you get some peace.  If you're like me, thinking and worrying about things is often worse than the reality.

Ulrich, happy anniversary.  Hope you and Petra can find some cool spot to celebrate.

Brent, sorry to hear your son is having such a hard time.  Hope the recovery is quick.

Ed, I like just about any drink with alcohol except Pina Coladas.  My daughters and sons-in-law are all wine experts, but I'm the lowbrow in my family.  Out of all the drinks, I'll enjoy my favorite -- ice cold Budweiser.  (You can try to insult me about Bud, but I've heard it all before and it's still what I like and want!!)

Hope all of you have a great Friday.  It's garbage day for us, too, so I got everything out to the curb.  I wish I could have put a lot more out there, but my wife won't let me.

Ugh... hospital food. Bad memories.

I was once hired by the publisher of a trade magazine about hospital food to replace two full-time and one part-time person. Me, alone, doing 2-1/2 people's jobs. I was doing the editorial and page design duties for three trade magazines, which put together came to 18 issues a year. The way I describe the company: Think of the three grossest kinds of food service -- airline food, hospital food, and prison food. We had a magazine for each of them. Yep, that's right, including prison food. You may wonder what there is to say about prison food to fill four issues a year. Once a year we would run an annual "new technology" roundup issue. Every year the article was the same: "This year we're making the food trays even harder to make into weapons." I lasted 7 months there, not due to the work load so much as having the worst boss in the world. When I left he had to hire two people to take my place.

Steven, I do some prison ministry, and we are reminded that when we hand out papers or booklets, all staples have to be removed.  Even staples can be used as weapons or as tools for tattoos.

When I was younger, I took a bad fall while skiing and tore my rotator cuff.  After a quarter of a century, I still remember the worst part of the experience----hospital food.  I intentionally ordered the Mac and cheese, figuring it was the one thing on the menu they couldn't screw up, but they did.

Sometimes a little bit too much sadness is too much for my head.

More times then none,  I'd rather read the happy-go-lucky posts here like I think everybody else would too.

As another frequent posters said...... Prayers and best wishes to all those that need them.  I would like to add Good Karma as well.

Well, since we're doing this.  I normally come here to read, enjoy and share fun.  I need some of that fun right now.

Judy's blood pressure was sky-high way before we took our vacation and sky high before that.

Her blood pressure medication is not working for Her.  Her fingertips were turning blue on our little 4th of July getaway.   The blood pressure medication she was on was dropping her blood pressure so low she had no circulation in her extremities.

Judy had to quit that blood pressure medication before our vacation to Laughlin because she could not feel her finger tips or her toes anymore.  It was like her hands and feet were sleeping.

I tried to cancel that trip but she would not think of it.  She just quit taking that medication.

She's been on a new blood pressure medication since we got back.

I took her to her doctor this morning to have her blood pressure checked.  Her blood pressure is not good, the new blood pressure medication is not working.

Her blood pressure is as sky high as it has ever been since we found out.

I feel for all of you and my Judy too.  God only knows we all have our problems.

I may back away from the Diner here for a while as I come here for happy.  I need to tend to my Judy.

I have my share of sadness here as I have seen some of you do too.  I just always love the funner stuff.

I cannot lose my Judy.....Ever!    I would have to go first or together with her.

Thanks York.

We went out on the stoop a while ago and Judy said please take a picture of that beautiful Cloud on fire above the trees.

So I did.

Had I jumped over the railing and went a little to the right I think the trees would have fit perfectly into that cloud.

Judy most times always sees things before I do.  I didn't quite notice the clouds on fire.

She was right.  It would have fit perfectly into the Tree Line...... I didn't quite get that one.

TF .... Sincerely sorry to hear about Judy’s blood pressure problem.  I have faith that doctors can identify causes of the problem to correct it.  The way you describe it, however , it sounds like she should be admitted to a hospital while doctors corrrct the problem. ... Prayimg for both of you.

This is brief because we leave at 5:00am for the airport to begin our trip.

Good night, everybody.

 Eveing Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer please.

Ulrich and Anniversary! Gift Hope it cools down for you soon.

TF Prayers for Judy! Hope I was not part of you thinking the dinner is depressing. But as you know I am bearing a heavy load right now and it brings me down. Reason I vent at the dinner, the diners are my friends.

Work Front, I felt like was a Fertilizer Sales Person today! I was busy all most all day, had 8 customers, 5 bought but total sales was only $1011.00?

Wife is going to visit a friend Saturday. She is leaving around 10:30 AM, what to do, what to do? Whistling I think I will cut out a over growen bush in the front yard that my wife does not want me to touch! Big Smile I am finally staring to enjoy the way the front yard looks!

Train Front Running my Sound Vaule Bachmann Sant Fe F7's and for a cheap sound engine they are great. Low power draw and pull well! Sound decoder, well they make sound. Sound like mad Bee's at higher speed. I think I paid $100.00 for the pair a few years ago and good little engines.

Ed Do you think it is worth sending the PRR I1sa back to BLI for a free repair? I just have a feeling the magnetic reed switch will fail again. Or would should I buy a better decoder? When the Rolling Thunder was working God I loved it!

If they could fix it in say 3 to 8 weeks I give it a try. But 14 weeks? Tells me they a having major quality problems?

 None smoking Ken posting again.

TF - I am sorry to hear about Judy´s BP issues! I can only second what Garry says - take her to a hospital and let a cardiologist sort it out! Two years ago, my BP went through the roof, as the new medication wouldn´t kick in. It earned me a helicopter ride to the hospital, as a regular ambulance would have not made it in time for me!

Happy times!

First of all to Garry.

Have a wonderful time on your trip.  Well deserved.  We sure had a good time and I'm sure you will too.  Like I said before,  enjoy every minute of it,  does go by fast.

Thank you Ed.  I'm sure things will workout,  she wants to wait till Monday.  I'm not okay with her decision.  She's taking things a little too lightly and not as serious as I am.  She's a hard woman,  I think she will be okay once they find the right meds that work for her.

Let's just go back to our regularly scheduled program.  Some fun, some laughs, some stories.  Always love the stories.

My friends Leo, Harry, Cliff, Herman and Mac always had the best stories.  I even have a few.

Care for you Guys     TF
