Can't even work out how to delete the posts!

This forum doesn't let you delete posts.  Your computer is innocent.

All good now, doh helps if I am logged in to Flickr. Using BBcode. My son in IT came to the rescue.

Thanks Henry and JaBear

BigDaddy
The BB link is what is in the 3rd post of this thread.  It is just pasted into your text.

You probably have to change your privacy settings on your photo:

https://flickr.kustomer.help/change-your-privacy-settings-rygl6XoJm

Here's a better look at what your "Share" window should look like:

 MR_Photo2 by Edmund, on Flickr

If your photo has a closed padlock icon the settings are set to private and it restricts the way you can share photos. You have to change permissions. You can do this one photo at a time OR go into the Flickr "Camera Roll" editing menu and select larger groups of photos.

Can't even work out how to delete the posts!

You can't delete your post — but you can use the "edit" button and highlight all your text and type [Del] or the back-space arrow. As a courtesy, then type "Deleted Comment" or such.

Hope that helps, Ed

Hmm  EDIT.

Henrys right. For some reason you don’t have the four options that you can see on my Flicker 1 photo, in which the BB Code is highlighted, which is what I paste into the “reply”.

I’ve had a quick look on your Flickr pages but couldn’t see any obvious reason as to why, besides I don’t feel comfortable being to nosey. especially if it has something to do with your Privacy settings. (Just a guess)

And yes, your modelling is well worth looking at, even if it is Oztralian!!Smile, Wink & Grin
Cheers, the Bear.Smile

Can't even work out how to delete the posts! (I hate computers) I thought I followed JaBears instructions but failed.

SouthCoast

There is a testing area in the Kalmbach forums here:

http://cs.trains.com/trc/f/2.aspx

When I clicked on your first attempt, saw your pic, and clicked on the right arrow at the bottom left, the 4 share options did not include BB (bulletin board link)  On my Flickr account that link is where pintrest is on yours.  Maybe the different countries have something to do with it.

If you are going to use the picture icon then the link has to end in .jpg

The link icon won't show a picture.

The BB link is what is in the 3rd post of this thread.  It is just pasted into your text.

You do darn nice work too.

Wow, N scale even! Surprise  Great work!  I just looked through your Flickr photos.

Being so close, I wouldn't be surprised if someone from Kalmbach came knocking at your door.

I'm about 30 miles away.

Thanks for the compliment Big Daddy. I've only been doing model railroading for about 7 years, and I'm learning more every time I pick up a tool or brush. I actually live about 10 minutes away from the Kalmbach and model Railroader offices. So hopefully I can pursue some publication attempts. Thanks again. Cheers!

BigDaddy
If you don't your real name to appear, all you need is part of what you copied, everything in bold starting with the open bracket before img and ending with the closed bracket after img
You maybe treading on very thin ice, Henry.

Unless you have your name on it or a link back to a Flickr account that is linked to your nam, it will be next to impossible to enforce your copyright.  That's another reason for not just posting your pic., otherwise someone could "borrow" it and leave you with no recourse.

OR simply go to your Flickr account preferences and change the ID to read what you want. I show only my first name. No worries.

Flicker terms of use say that the link has to show if you are using their service as third-party hosting, as Bear has mentioned.

Good Luck, Ed

Bear, don't take me too seriously.  Vinnie wouldn't get combat pay without people like me.

John Holy moly, I clicked on your photostream and you do spectacular work! Thumbs Up  Thumbs Up

I watched a youtube video last night from a guy on the Internet.  It was how to build a road, and I was not impressed.

If you haven't been in Model Railroader, you need to submit an article.

just paste that, don't use the link or the picture icons and after you post your message, the link turns into this

Having trouble posting pictures from Flickr... only getting links
Posted by irishRR on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 12:38 PM

Hello. I have read and re-read how to post pictures too the forum, but I am having difficulty. I specifically us Flickr as my picture sharing hub, but everytime I try to post, all it does is display the link. Some people have been kind enough to "liven" my links and turn them into pictures, but I do not know how to do this. I love the forums and would like to be even more involved. This is why I would like to be able to show some pictures. Any and all help is appreciated here. Thank you!
