This is embarassing. I painted this little United 2-6-2 over a year ago, and it is still in this exact condition, "under construction". Every other ithem in the background has been completed and featured in Weekend Photo Fun.
I am pretty apprehensive about reassembling it for some reason. Maybe I will get onto the project soon.

Hi, Friends. I essentially never get into this thread, a sad but truthful admission. It's sad for two reasons: one, I don't have a layout worth imaging and cannot participate as I did perhaps eight years ago now. And two, I don't hear from Jarrell Conley who proposed and who initiated this wonderful and long-lived thread at least a decade ago. I haven't seen a post from him in about two years...perhaps I am mistaken?
Unless someone knows better, it could be that we have seen his last contribution in text or in image here. He taught me a lot about photography off line, and we corresponded via email for several years. He has left a legacy here, and was widely respected for a number of reasons, not least because he was quite obviously a gentleman.
With this in mind, I wonder how it would be received if we were to modify the thread title, much as we did for Jeffrey Wimberley, to reflect Jarrell's status, regard, and legacy to this forum. Nothing lasts forever, not Jarrell, not this forum, and not much about the hobby except for maybe the mutual love of trains.
It could be "Show Jarrell Something", or "Jarrell's Show Me Something. Something more suitable?
I offer this for your consideration, you who participate in this thread monthly, who enjoy it, and who would like to honour the fellow hobbyist who began it all so many years ago.

I think we should end the month talking about this idea, and posting pictures of cabooses. That could be fun.
I think this is a good idea. There is a legacy in here. I joined the Model Railroader forums after Jarrell was gone, but I also joined after Jeffrey as well.
I do not like the diner. I rarely go there, the regulars can be a bit hard to handle.
I like this thread much better. It is full of life and creativity... and model railroading!
Selector (Crandell): I do not have a layout either. I have been composing pictures like this one on a 30 by 30 piece of plywood for over a year now, and I have loved it. This thread is awesome for dealing with no-layout-worth-presenting syndrome.

Show me another caboose, and share some input on the thread naming idea.
Crandell, I have often wondered how many know that Jarrell started this idea for a thread that took off right from the get-go. I exchanged many a PM with him as well and enjoyed his great sense of humour which was the basis of many of our chats. He had other ideas for threads over the years that were meant to be short-lived as they were often based on holiday or seasonal events.
"Jarrell's Show Me Something" gets my vote as I think of him often.

I'm with you Batman and Crandell, I remember and miss Jarrell's posts they were always written well, with a good sense of humor but excellent modelling. This is a good idea, I'm all for it.

I haven't been here very long, and I love show me something, and if this Jarrell started it, than the thread be named after him.

Sorry no pix.
Crandell has a good idea. .... I recall when Jarell started the thread and explained the concept. .... I miss his posts. I do not know what happened to him.
Crandell .... Feel free to post old photos of your old layout. I would like seeing your pictures again. Some of the newer forum members would probably like them.
