It almost sounds like a personal question, but I don't think you meant it that way.

I looked on expedia, some hotels are booked, but prices aren't nearly as bad as I imagined they might be.  $150 a night or less if you want to stay near the airport.  2 day admission $26.  Parking $12/day  Food depends on your budget and where you want to eat.  $20 min/day 40 or 50 is more reasonable for a city and tips.

It's not the most expensive 3 day vacation you could pick.

I'm not going.  Flying there would be $300.

I went to the 2017 convention in Orlando last year.

.

Travel was nothing, I live 170 miles away.

Hotel was free, I used Hilton Honors points.

I spent about $400.00 at the train show.

Probably about another $1,000.00 across the week.

.

I did eat at some fairly expensive restaurants, and my wife was with me, so both of these increased the money spent.

Survey of spend for the 2018 convention in KC

Greetings,

I try to attend the national train show when it is in the midwest.  The last time I went was 1998, when it was also in KC.  The 2018 show looks like fun times!

So out of curiosity, I have a 2 question survey.  1) Are you going to the show?  2) If yes, what will be your estimated total spend for the week? (travel, motel, parking, convention registration, tours, clinics, food, the whole shebang)

Thx!

Mark
