I sent the money to be a member of Walthers' Yardmaster Club, a 4 days ago. Anyone that has become a member of the club, hoow long is it before you are a member of it? I looked online at ther website, and still have not received the Yardmaster welcome packet. figured for sending them $37.95, membership would be automatic.
4 days ago? If you sent the money via mail it might take 3 to 4 days just to get there.
Paid by credit card. Their site says yardmaster welcome packet not shipped yet.
Then I guess that's what the telephone is for.
I've been a member for the past 5yrs. and usually it took about 6days......sometimes I got it in 3 days as does the rest of the things I get from them. They are a lot busier than some people may think. But I only live 3hrs from them. I do know that Fed-Ex picks up the merchandise and gives it to USPS to deliver. I have had real great luck with them and have not had any problems at all that is worth complaining about. When and if I do have a problem, I found calling is a lot better than any e-mail and faster. I average about 1500.00 yearly with them. I pick-up things for 3 friends of mine that live out of country, so It works great for Me, shipping wise for me and especially My friends. If Walthers does not carry some things....I go directly to the MFG'er and found that doing it that way is also way cheaper, than going through a dealer.
I also use Pay-Pal as do My friends, who pay Me monthly........
Take Care!

Frank, glad to say i got my Yardmasters Club welcome pack today.
I remember the old days when you ordered something and the small print would say 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.
It is all on this page.

Back when I was in the market for locomotives and rolling stock, I suspect that the 37.95$ was justifiable for me. Today, not so much. And I have not experienced problems getting trough to Walthers, albeit with the occasional hold time on the phone.

$40 bucks up front means you have to buy $400 of merchandise to break even. Forget about the new "free" catalog having any monetary value. They're pretty much the same year to year.Their list of manufacturers does not show any suppliers of DCC, no Kadee, no small manufacturers etc. You might be better striking a deal with your LHS on the big ticket items and then he can be there when you need the small items. Help support your local dealer.....
Just my thoughts and I'm sure others will vary.

Am curious about Walthers' Yardmasters Club. Joined it last week and just wondered if anyone else that has joined think it is worth the $37.95. I mean how does one get the club's 10% discount when no promo code is given. Sometimes hard to get ahold of someone at walthers.

Just like I said in My other post.......I have been a member for the past five yrs. and it has been very beneficial for Me and My three friends who live out of country. Where either they don't ship to them or it costs more than their order. They send Me an e-mail requesting any item and I usually put it on My wish list......when ready I order it. Most times Walthers carry's everything that they need........they browse the referance book and give Me the stock #"s quantity.....without back orders. If Walthers does not carry what they want I go direct to the mfg'er and still save money.....for them and Me. I front the money and they pay Me monthly by PayPal. I do not ship, paint or adhesives. I don't ask for a dime......just what I paid. Works well for all concerned. Plan on visiting a couple of them this yr. long as My health holds out......UK, OZ and Africa.
