New models with no parts diagram included
Posted by Erie-diamond on Friday, April 20, 2018 5:40 PM

Last week I purchased a new Erie bay window caboose from Bachmann along with a new Erie heavy Mikado from Broadway limited. The caboose came with no parts diagram which would help me in two ways. 1) Help me in disassembly to install Tomar marker lanterns and 2) show where that tiny black piece that's in a tiny sealed bag that came in the box with it is for or where it is supposed to attach. I've gone over the model and find no plce for it. I'll be trying to get in touch with Bacmann next week. Has anyone else ran into problems like this?

Thanks in advance for any help or comments, Ken

Try the Bachmann forums.  If this is a RTR car, there probably isn't a parts diagram.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, I'm waiting on an e-mail to activate the account over at Bachmann.   Ken

Their website says "optional bathroom roof vent." Is that what it looks like?

Not responsive to the OP's original problems, but it is to the general subject of the thread.

A little known aspect of the Walthers website is that there are ways to find the kit instructions or manuals to a number of their products.  The way you learn this is from their website's FAQs.  Here are two entries in the FAQs.

"Where can I find instructions for Walthers Cornerstone kits?"

Enter the kit number (i.g. 933-2900) in the search box in the upper right corner of our website.  Click on the item to bring up more item information. If a download is available, it will be listed.

Where can I find a manual for my product?

For Walthers products, search on your item and if a manual is available, a PDF of the manual will be listed the Product Detail information.  For other manufacture manuals, you may need to contact the manufacturer to obtain one.
