I know this is a longshot, but does anyone know of a Kato forum? I have a question about a particular structure and figured that would be the best place to look, but I can't find one.
There is a Yahoo group.

There is another Yahoo group called KatoUnitrack (one word, no space). Been around about 20 years, but also not a whole lot of activity these days.
But forget about Yahoo for a minute . . . what is your question about Kato structures? There are some Kato modelers on this forum, and at least one who likes the Kato snap-fit structures.

Thanks Robert.
My question involves the Kato N scale Denny's Restaurant. I would like to light the interior but there doesn't seem to be a good spot to drill to insert the light. I'm using Woodland Scenics' Just Plug system, so I have to drill a 3/8 inch hole to fit the light.
Can't you drill a hole in the bottom? Maybe hide the wire inside the building, and mount the light at ceiling height?
That's the way I do an HO scale building.
There are quite a few great modelers on here that light their buildings, with some great results.
Maybe rephrase your post or title to "Lighting N scale Kato buildings".
Mike.

Hey wblock-
I don't have the Denny's, but I have considered getting it. It is modern, but not outlandish, and it would fit in with the small town on my layout. If you can hang on a week or two, I'll get one and noodle around a little. Seriously. But I don't plan on getting the WS plug and play lighting system.
Have you considered tiny grain-of-wheat LEDs? Many here could give you advice on a simple lighting scheme.
But going with what you got . . . Wherever you drill the large hole, can you disguise it somehow? With a shed or a wood fence or a screen or something? Restaurants always have dumpsters or grease pits or other stuff out back they want to keep out of public view.
Good luck. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
