I bought a Microtrains boxcar, took it apart and put a Masonite slider under it. The Masonite has a couple of nails through it with the heads countersunk so thery will not catch on track parts. I also beveled the front and rear for the same reason. The nails stick through the bottom of the car with clearcnce so the slider is free to move up and down. It looks just like something someone on ebay is selling for $40

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good N scale track cleaning car? Do they work well? Is the kind that use a cleaning solution better than the kind with Bright Boy Pads? I have seen some for as much as $160-170 but I know I can't afford that.
