I had to glue mine in with a tiny dab of super glue and haven't had any problems with them since then.

Hobby shops that have model planes will have "canopy glue", which might be your best bet if you do decide to glue them in. It's designed to hold clear plastic pieces in place, but dries clear so if a little gets on the visible clear plastic parts it's not noticeable.

Kato N scale F7A - changing number boards

I have multiple Kato F7A units and I would like to change the number boards. They pop out easy - too easy - some fell out in the box. Obviously not glued in. I have extra numbers to install but have had no success in installing them. Do not seem to snap in and stay in place as I expected. Are they supposed to be glued in? That would make them permanent. I am OK with glue is necessary but I wanted to make sure before I do that.
