Ye Olde Huff-N-Puff/Silver Streak Kits Up-Date
Posted by Run Eight on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 3:36 PM

I think it was sometime last year 2017 or may be 2016, that the firm mentioned in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, was closing until futher notice.

Somebody mentioned that the owner had expiered and that La Belle Woodworking had purchased the remaining stock, parts and equipment from the owner's estate.

Just looked at La Bellw web-site and no mentioned of either kit line being in their respective hands.

Anyone out there, knows the true story?

Good news for a change.  For those who don't care to cut and paste the link

Rick Steele posted on 1/30/18

Just to let you guys know, I have gone crazy again.

I bought the Ye Olde Huff & Puff line of  HO, HOn3, S, O and On3 kits.

This includes the old:

Ye Olde Huff & Puff
Sugar Pine Structures
Silver Streak Kits
LW and AC Models
Mainline Models
Stewart Products
Eshelman Switch Links

Since the purchase of Silver Streak has given me enough tooling to actually produce some Red Ball Kits, I will be ginning those up again as well. At least that's the plan.

There's some S Scale freight equipment as well, but right now it looks like Boxes, Reefers and Express reefers. This is my first foray into S and I don't know what the demand will be. At any rate, I don't plan on dropping the line unless there is NO demand at all. Yes, I will give it time for people to find it.

I mention this because there was some C&S equipment that was made in On3. Being the (deleted language which probably does not meet MR standards) that I am, I will be modifying a lot of these old kits so that I like them.

Just for your information.

Rick

Good to know someone is willing to continue those old lines. I wish Rick Steele the best!
