Hi with no local HS with in 50 miles I have to mail order my paints it has been several years since I have and can not remember were I got my last order from. Any suggestions were to go on line thanks in advance.
What brand paint?
.
I order most of my stuff from Dick Blick art supplies.
They have a lot of high quality paints in brands you might not be familiar with.

Living the dream.
I'm new to painting RR colors so not sure on the different brands I have used Model Flex in the past but I'm open to try new types of paint I have a wide range of intrest when it comes to my railroads . So I'm looking for some place with a lot of choices.
Before you go "mail ordering".....
Oils? Enamels? Acrylics? Some or All?
For Buildings? Locomotives/Rolling Stock? Layout/Scenery?

I do a lot of painting with rattle cans, specifically the auto primers in red, light gray and dark gray. I paint my scenery with an earthtone water based paint. These I can get from hardware stores, auto parts stores and Wally Mart. There are some nice acrylic craft paints in useful colors from crafty stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby. For "mail order" or web purchase, any of the dealers who advertise in Model Railroader or Rail Model Craftsman will be satisfactory.

If I may add something to consider when ordering your paint, depending on where you are at this time of year, and depending on how your mail is actually delivered, you may want to take into account the possibility that the paint may freeze at some point in the delivery process. My mail is delivered to a post box across the street. The time of delivery varies throughout the day. If I order paint in the winter I am taking a huge risk that it won't survive the shipping process if it is exposed to the cold.
I order my paints from Hobby Wholesale in Edmonton, Alberta. Last winter I wanted to order a bunch of paint. They told me to wait until spring! I consider that to be great service when the supplier says 'no, I won't ship the paint at this time of year' for very valid reasons.

Hello all,
Great suggestion on not ordering pait if it will be exposed to freezing temps during shipment.
When the time comes I would suggest Micro-Mark.
They offer a great selection of colors and brands for both airbrushing and brush applications.
Hope this helps.
Post Script: Tru-Color also ships direct.
