I went with Imgbb a few months ago. I have all my images on my PC, so I just uploaded them. Probably PB would not be helpful with a direct site to site transfer.

I store my rail-related images on railimages.com, and my nature images on a gallery at DPR.  Many sites now allow direct upload from a PC or mobile device, so I tend to do that more and more these days.

Yeh,kinda what I thought, luckily I do have most of my images backed up on my pc.

or I could try the paid subscription to PB and hope for a better experience with them, anyone here gone that route? Same with YouTube! Have noticed with YT that when viewing uploaded videos they tend to be buffering quite a lot,not positive if that’s their site or my Internet connection! lol

They're called image HOSTING sites, not image STORAGE sites.  One should have all of these still on one's own storage.

Storage is almost literally cheaper than dirt these days.  I just bought a 64GB flash drive for $16.  You can store a LOT of photos there.  If not, they make bigger ones.

I'd suggest going away from Photobucket. My hosting provider costs $5/mo and I have my web site there and just put any pictures I want to share on a site like here up there, don't come close to the transfer limit and the storage space is more than enough, I have yet to delete anything. It's a little more complex because it's a generic web host, not a specific picture host, but the price is cheap and there are no ads to deal with.

Even if you pay Photobucket, so that you cna link photos - I'm finding that for peope who don;t pay and just click on the photo to go view it are completely overwhelmed with ads - that's even WITH an ad blocker running. Banner ad on top of the photo, 2 banner ads underneath, several ads to the right of the photo and THEN multiple pop-over ads, including self-playing videos with sound. It's worse than those clikc-bait sites on social media and UNACCEPTABLE. Not ebcause they are ads, but because things liek the self playing videos are jsut ASKING to be hijacked into malware installation vectors. No web site using those sort of things is acceptable to me, and shouldn't be to you, either. These palces (and I include Facebook in there as well) all claim to vet the ad providers they use - that is absolute BS, you constantly get things that pop up those fake virus warnings, including those absolutely insnae ones that start talking and saying they are Microsoft - must be great to get those on a Mac. Even mobile devices are not immune, I constantly get thing on Facebook that tell me my ipad is infected. Or else I'm a winner of something, if only I provide a bunch of personal information. It won;t go away until people stop responding and making it worth the effort of the hackers and spammers.

When I saw $400.00, I deleted all my photos and closed the account.

I keep all my photos on an external 1 Tb hard drive someone gave me.

I belong to a number of forums and many bailed also.

Most of my Photo Bucket photos were on my PC in one file. I uploaded them to Fliker.

I then went through my posts and  replaced the PB photos with Fliker photos.

I could not find a few.  I downloaded them  from PB to my PC, then uploaded them to Fliker.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

I've had good luck and low cost with the lowest level paid account at Imageshack for my pics. Basic, easy to use, no ads.

I use the unpaid version of Vimeo for video and it's generally been adequate for my needs. I've been debating upgrading to a paid account, but haven't really needed it yet.
