I have a 1967 Athearn DD40 in the B&O scheme. I believe Athearn's number was 4281. I have looked all over (even the Athearn site) and cannot find any spare parts. Specifically, I am looking for replacement powered trucks. This is a 2 motor version and some old paperwork I found listed the trucks as 42030 power truck front and 42031 power truck rear. Anybody have any suggestions?
Athearn hasn't made the DD40 in 15 years, so their stock of parts is long gone. The truck design remained the same for the entire production run, so you can use the trucks from any year. Your best bet would be eBay or train shows. Rather than replace the full trucks though, why not simply replace whichever parts are failing? The trucks are hard to find, but the gears and axles are everywhere since they were used in a number of Athearn drives.

I agree with Darth, just what part(s) do you need? Axles/wheel set assembly, sideframes, gears, the bottom cover ? All of which could be bought seperately. I say "could", because I havent searched for part numbers, wheel diameters, etc., not knowing what your looking for.
I've had good luck, in the past, contacting Athearn, about different parts.
