Posted by SkyriderV8 on Saturday, July 22, 2017 9:16 AM

Hello

I found problem on MTH Train : N&W-J 611

This is 2nd train that I found same problem. The first train I return to the shop and I order the 2nd train from other shop.

The problem occured when run on DCS/TIU but no problem on DCC (ESU ECos).

Are there anyone suggest how to fix it ?
Thank

We don't have much information to go on...

It seems like the random stopping may be due to not enough current or the locomotive is drawing too much current causing your power supply to intermittently cut out. Can the smoke unit be disabled to reduce power consumption during testing?

Can you place an LED and a resistor across the rails supplying power to the test rollers to see if the power being supplied is not being interrupted?

Sometimes I test DCC locomotives using a SproggII and the same thing will occur if I happen to have two engines or maybe a lighted passenger car on the same test track. The Sprogg supplies a very low amount of power.

Good Luck, Ed

Hello Ed

At first I think problem may come from not enough Power but I use 17VDC/8AMP Power Supply (pluged to Fix Volt Input of DCS TIU).
With this power supply unit, I not found issue on another MTH HO trains like DASH8 and SD70ACE and MTH O Guage train.

I turn off engine sound and smoke unit and nothing change (random stopping still happen)
And It is strange because with DCC Mode, no problem ConfusedConfusedConfused
