hlwaaserI'd like to find a 4-wheel bobber caboose
Mantua made a Pennsy and Bachmann still makes them, Md & PA might also fit. Howard Zane describes a lot of the locos on his layout as "leased' so you would be in good company.
There's a bunch on ebay and they are easy to find if you have a train show near you.

I'd like to find a 4-wheel bobber caboose for the Penny Line to use at the back of a 4-6 car local freight. Could be painted for either PRR or NYC, since the Penny line would be buying used equipment from either line.
I have a Bowser PRR N5C Caboose and I'm looking for that Marklin NYC one.
Makes a great addition to my caboose track!
Thanks for the reply. I have about 15" around the two sides that are against the walls in the corner of the room. This lets me squeeze through, though I don't know how much more weight I can gain and still get through. I am more interested now in actually talking with people who can help me with my layout than about life. I've had enough life to satisfy me; now I want trains.
I had the same problem when I see layouts. A lot of buildings and track but not enough parking lots.

Welcome to the forum and welcome back to the hobby. Stop in at Jeffries Trackside Diner where we discuss more about life than model railroading.
If you can't get to the backside of the 5' side of you layout, you better have longer arms than the rest of us. We have some professional layout designers that will be happy to advise you on your trackplan.
Hey everybody. I just joined this community a few days ago. I'm 73 and starting back into mode railroading after having done it when I was a teenager. I'm into HO gauge. I'm setting up my layout as the Pennsylvania New York Border Railroad. It runs through upper PA and lower upstate of NY. The logo will be something using Penn-NY in a circle like NYC. The nickname will be "The Penny Line". Time frame will be post WW-II into mid 50's So far, I have a 8 by 5 1/4 board with a 1 inch foam on it, with Bachmann E-Z track. My idea is to have the Penny Line crossed by a line owned jointly by PRR & NYC, electrified so that a GG-1 can pull a passenger train; a Hudson will pull a freight train. The layout will include a town at this junction point. So far I have little space and no money, so work has stopped. I do have one thing that you don't see much of on the narrow shelf railroads everyone else is building: houses. When I went to a show, I asked the people operating the layouts where the people lived who worked in all the industries and stores they had.
