I just bought one for southern new brunswick beautiful model looks great does anyone else have one? How do you think they compare to the rapido ones?
Looking forward to when they'll finally release the 19000-series cabooses for NYC, P&LE, and PMcK&Y. I think I've been waiting 3+ years now. From your post it sounds like it will be worth the wait.

Sounds like you paid close to MRSP ($94.99). If you are happy with it then the price doesn't really matter, that is until your wife finds out how much you spent!
I have four True Lines Trains Canadian Pacific slab side covered hoppers and I think they look great. I paid far more for them than I had for any other freight cars but I really wanted them and I'm happy to have them. I will continue to buy them when they come up at decent prices but they will never be a bargain.
As an aside, True Line offered some excellent acrylic paints a couple of years ago but something happened to their supplier. They were more expensive than any other paints I have tried but they were well worth it. I buy True Line paints whenever I see them because they are so nice to work with. Alas, they are pretty rare these days. They were mostly Canadian colours, which suited me fine (eh!), but I'm wondering if part of their problem was that their colour selection didn't meet the needs of lots of modellers.

Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
I am not a Canadian caboose expert but I believe the True Lines Caboose represents a totally different caboose vs. the Rapido caboose. So how they compare, it's like apples and oranges - they are two different cabooses.
That said, someone on TrainOrders posted a bunch of photo's of the TL caboose and they are very nice, highly detailed and look they are nice models of the caboose they represent. A couple of the examples shown did have very crooked looking smoke jacks on the roof, but other than that they were gorgeous models.

Like so many others, I'm still hoping to see the NYC wood caboose. But it's a long wait and the light at the end of the tunnel doesn't seem much brighter. It's a long tunnel! So I bought a couple AMB NYC caboose kits and will be building them this fall, as Ed (gmPullman) did not long ago. If the True Line cars ever show up, I'll probably still get one. In the meantime, I'll have my NYC cabooses.
I bought the Algoma Central caboose. I think it is a beautiful model though the interior lighting is a bit too bright.
ACY Like so many others, I'm still hoping to see the NYC wood caboose. But it's a long wait and the light at the end of the tunnel doesn't seem much brighter. It's a long tunnel! Tom

There are lots of cabooses that could be made in plastic. My favorite D&RGW standard gauge cabooses probably have longer tunnel than the NYC wood cabooses. My solution so far boils down to six brass cabooses - five are painted now and with the rarity of D&RGW brass cabooses, I may have to resort to Shapeways to get anymore.
