New video of the Thompson River Canyon memorial layout
Posted by JDL56 on Sunday, September 4, 2016 9:33 PM

Now that the Thompson River Canyon memorial layout is done, I made another video--this time of the new side.

A bit of background: I am an HO scale modeller. I made this layout in memory of my brother-in-law, who died in 2014 before he could make an N scale version of the Thompson River Canyon. (He had previously owned a large HO scale layout before moving to a condo.) Since he couldn't build it, I decided to make it for him. The first side was finished last summer; this side was finished a week or so ago. I will unveil the completed layout at our local train show this month.

The plan now is to sell this layout to an N scale friend after the show.

As for me, it was a fun project. I really appreciate the train-to-scenery ratio of N scale. Who knows? Maybe I'll switch to that scale one day. (When I downsize.)

There are three videos at the link: The new more desert side of the canyon; the steeper side with a rock/snow shed, and a video showing how I built the first side.
