Locomotive customizing...
Posted by mbshaw on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 9:31 AM
I am interested in having a couple of locomotives custom painted and detailed. One I don't have the time and two I don't trust my skills detailing skills.

I would like to know if anybody knows of a good detail shop or if you have had a horror story with one. I have searched around my area but haven't had any success yet. I have also searched the internet but am a little leery of doing business without first knowing something about them.

Any information will be well appreciated.

Thanks....

Do you belong to a club? Maybe someone there would do it for you.

I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.

This weekend I failed to notice that a post was 10 years old.  This one is 16.

Hi BNSF UP and others modeller,

I just wanted to point out that you have responded to a thread that was posted in 2002 - 16 years ago! Lots of newcomers to the forums miss the original post dates. There is certainly nothing that says you can't revive an old post, but you probably won't get a response from the OP when things get past the six or seven year mark.

No big deal. I'm not being critical. I have done it myself.

I seen that, looks like he's bouncing around catching up on old and unanswered post.  I wasn't going to say anything, but after 16 years?

Just trying to help, I guess.

Mike.

Oh darn, you figured my idea out. But I thought to mself, I can't give helpful answers to some of the newst posts, so why not respond to some old ones? I feel bad for those who never got a response. That would frustrate me. Also, who knows who might stumble upon a revived thread and find it super helpful?

Usually older posts refer to a specific piece of equipment more popularly bought and a disscussion of these pieces was more prevalent.

It does help in working on older engines that had specific problems, scenery techniques, building kits etc. I have revived older posts on Central Valley bridge kits and check out the disscusion on members opinions and various methods of better contruction and uses. No harm here, but wow 16 years...
