what type of paint is best under polyester resin. also best under epoxy?
I used craft paints under my Envirotex, came out very well.
Good luck,
Richard
Couple months ago poured a canal with Envirotex Lite epoxy resin over a surface painted with water based primer and top coated with interior acrylic latex that had dried and cured for a week, so far so good.
On a previous layout poured Envirotex over a surface coated with 80's era Floquil petroleum distillate paint, worked well and looked good for over 20 years until the layout was torn down. I'm guessing that there's a lot of leeway in the types of paint that will work under epoxy.
Still, not a bad idea to try a small test pour with the surface of choice before committing.
Regards, Peter
It doesn't matter what type of paint as long as it is fully dry/cured before you pour. Just make sure the area is completly sealed as EPOXY RESIN will find the smallest hole or crack and leak out onto the floor. Epoxy is a resin (like Envirotex and Magic Water).
