Free Stuff
Posted by RideOnRoad on Friday, June 20, 2014 3:32 PM

I just received four more boxes of "inherited" train stuff from a deceased uncle. I made a similar offer once before but I want to check and make sure it is still acceptable. I want the stuff to be used but am not interested in selling it. The deal will be the same as before, if you want it, it is yours for the cost of shipping. (I want to make sure this still fits within the "no sales" directive of the forum. I would hate to get myself banned.) As before, it will be first come, first served, but there will be one difference--I will need to get the shipping money upfront. (I got burned last time. Sad) Once I get the okay, I will post what is available.

Why don't you just ask that any interested parties contact you using the private message option?  That why any transaction will be in the background.

That's what I did last time, but I posted the available goodies in the General Discussion topic so I didn't get inundated with a bunch of "I might be interested; whacha got?" messages.

A cursory pass shows some HO kits, some narrow gauge HO and O. I may be giving the HOn3 stuff to my daughter's 15 year-old brother-in-law who was drawn into the dark side when he saw my trains.

I would definitely be interested in the HOn3 if he's not.  Possibly some standard gauge pieces too, depending on what you have

I'm curious what's in the HO scale stuff

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Okay, folks, I have the list of free stuff. First come via PM, first served. As soon as it is gone, I will edit this post to let you know. Again, the deal is, it is free, just pay for the shipping. I got burned last time so this time it will ship after I receive the payment.

One more thing, and I will have to trust you, this is for your personal use. I am not interested in giving you the free stuff just to have you sell it on eBay. These came from my uncle and I am looking to find good homes for his stuff.

Here's the list:

Precision Scale Turnouts, in the boxes -- 2 Right-Hand (#49011) and 2 Left-Hand (#49012) -- CLAIMED

HO Kits. No guarantees they are complete--they seem to be. I have no idea how old they are. I would prefer to send them all to one person. -- CLAIMED.  (That's right, all of them!)

  • Walthers 36' Rib Side Hopper, UP
  • Walthers 36' Offset Hopper, Chesapeake & Ohio
  • Athearn Wells Fargo 40 Ft Boxcar
  • Athearn Union Pacific Hopper Car
  • Roundhouse 36' Box Car V&T (3 Kits)
  • Roundhouse 36' Fishbelly Box Car V&T (2 Kits)

  • 4 Turnouts -- 2 curved, 2 straight
  • 2 boxes of curved track

Atlas Snap-Track, 16 pieces, 22" radius, box looks rather old

  • Two Truck Shay Locomotive, Painted, Unlettered (Black)
  • Logging and Mining Cars, Wood Side Dump Car (3 Cars)
  • Loggind and Mining Cars, V Dump Car (3 Cars)

That's a real stand-up thing you're doing there, Richard. It's so refreshing seeing folks spreading the joy of the hobby like that.  Thumbs UpBow
