White Castle in HO Scale
Posted by danmerkel on Friday, September 10, 2010 3:26 PM

Does anyone know if there has evern been a White Castle restaurant produced in HO scale?  I have seen the White Tower restaurant but that isn't the same.

Thanks.

That looks more like a White Tower restaurant.  The markings say White Castle though.  Even on the summary page, the kit is listed as a White Tower model...

For HO scale, the short answer is, no.  Walthers offered an example of a White Tower restaurant, which can be made to look fairly close with a little work, but no one has ever done an exact reproduction in this scale.

Dan.

I would just use the Walthers White Tower and just change the lettering!      Kevin

The White Tower kit looks a lot like the Original White Castle that now sits near my boyhood home in South Minneapolis. It was moved to the corner of 34th and Lyndale a while back. It does not look like the modern ones either. That is what I will use when I get to that part of my town. I will take some pics then. Maybe someone in South Minneapolis with a camera can get some.

If you think you have it right, your standards are too low. my photos http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/ARTHILL/ Art

I found 2 pics and the closest to my memory from the late 50s early 60s of the one I enjoyed going to in S.Mpls is the b/w photo on the right though I don't recall the tower just the battlement style skylinebut it was 50 yrs ago could have been there lol.
