Houston Area fall layout tour Contact Info

If you're thinking about including your layout on the tour

see below

Hello Everyone,

Hope all are doing well. It's that time again! Yes, in 3 months the 2008 San Jacinto Fall layout tour begins on October 18th. Get those railroads cleaned, and tuned up for another great tour. We had 80 layouts on tour last year. New record! Thanks! To all who helped be a part of this last year. Now, let's begin a new page.

Last year I sent out a notification in June. Did not get much response until July. So, I decided this year I would give everyone time to settle in before I sprung this on ya'll.

The deadline to inform me about being on the tour is August 31st.  It takes awhile to get everything sorted and ready for print by September.

This year we would like for everyone who is going to be on the tour to submit pictures to the following web site. http://sanjac.leoslair.com This will help enhance your visitations.

Note: In order for your railroad to be insured by the NMRA during the layout tour. You, must be a member of the NMRA. You, can join for a 6 month trial run for only $9.95. Might be something to look into to. http://www.nmra.org

We had a pretty good tour last year. Not much on complaints. The only issue was mentioned time and time again. Instead of a geographical tour. Maybe we should look into a freeway oriented tour. With the gas prices and the road construction everywhere. I thought why not give it a try. Might save some time and money. So, I have made a preliminary listing below. Please, be open minded when you see this. By any chance this does not work for you. We can always adjust the tour to your schedule.

Contact me ( Byron Spampinato) at cspamb@comcast.net or by phone 281-251-0459 Looking forward in hearing from you.

Remember - The deadline to inform me whether or not you will, or will not be on the tour is August 31st.

Here is the preliminary listing. This not set in stone. Any questions, ideas, suggestions, or complaints are welcome at this time.

It has been a while since I did any of the tour, but I really like the idea of organizing it by freeway.  I hope to make part of the tour this year.

Terry,

This is the second year in a row i've tried to get on the tour and here we go again. My name isn't on it. I will be opened on Saturday 9AM to 5PM and Sunday 12:30 PM - 5PM October 25 & 26 with the group in the (HWY 90) Crosby / Liberty/ Beaumont area. It's just a matter of getting on the list that's the hard part. Sent e-mails AGAIN to the so-called "appropriate people" with SJMRRC and maybe this year they'll get it right.  This is the first list so hope they get me on it this time around..chuck
