Rod Stewart's Three Rivers City

  • I must say that the overall details in his layout, are just great. I was particularly interested in Grand Central  (page 78), which I know very well, since I started to commute from Connecticut to the City over 37 years. As the caption says "traffic gets hectic" around Grand Central, however since the period is around 1940, very few, if any, yellow painted cabs would be lined up. Although "Yellow Taxi"  Companies existed , the cars were painted in every other color. It is only in the late sixties that Mayor John Lindsey ordered that all cabs be painted in yellow, to  distinguish them from the "gypsie cab". A minor detail, in this beautifull layout 23 X 24'4"   ( Whoa!  that's the depth of my property!)
