You have HO METAL wheel sets and you have trucks with wheel sets. When upgraging to metal wheels sets, generally speaking(there are always exceptions) the Lifelife sets appear to be one of the favorites and not as expensive in comparison to the intermountain full metal(axle also)sets that also have a good reputation Beware, there are 28", 33", 36" & 38 ' wheels and that come with ribbed back wheels or smooth back wheels, depending upon the time era. Kato sells a truck/wheel set for approx $5.00 that has superior free rolling ability(maybe too much if you are doing a lot of yard switching). Also Kadees, but the black finish eventually transfers on to the track and then you have to clean & clean the track for awhile.
