You have HO METAL wheel sets and you have trucks with wheel sets. <br />When upgraging to metal wheels sets, generally speaking(there are always exceptions) the Lifelife <br />sets appear to be one of the favorites and not as expensive in comparison to the intermountain full metal(axle also)sets that also have a good reputation <br /> <br />Beware, there are 28", 33", 36" & 38 ' wheels and <br />that come with ribbed back wheels or smooth back wheels, depending upon the time era. <br /> <br />Kato sells a truck/wheel set for approx $5.00 that has superior free rolling ability(maybe too much if you are doing a lot of yard switching). <br /> <br />Also Kadees, but the black finish eventually transfers on to the track and then you have to clean & clean the track for awhile.
