Spending weeks scratch building something giving it all the attention to detail possible. Measuring the photos, working out the prototype size then convert the measuements to scale, cutting the pieces, assembling and detialing, mixing and re-mixing paint to get that exact color, weathering it and making sure it looks exactly like the prototype in the photo. Then, with the pride of new parents you show off your new baby only to have them say -- "that's nice" -- and go on looking at other things. My guess is that as a non-modeler they just don't understand all the blood, sweat and tears that go into creating something from photographs. <br />
